I have realized that the major problem of believers, including myself, is truly trusting in God. We may feel like we do, say it with our lips; but deep down we still fear the situation before us. Jesus said to his disciples when they came in contact with the barren fig tree (Mark 11:12-25) that a little faith like a mustard seed can move mountains, yet as small as the mustard seed is, our faith cannot measure up to it, not because we can't but because instead of seeing Jesus before our situations we see the situation first and fear never leaves room for faith to grow.

See yourself holding a sharp knife under your palm with your fist closed. You may pray and ask God to take the knife out from your palm, but he wouldn't, not because he can't, but because he would hurt you if he pulls it out with your fist closed. You'll first need to open your palm and let go of the knife gripped under your palms for him to take it out without hurting you. The knife is your problems, the hands gripping the knife are doubt, fear, and uncertainty. You'll need to let them go first for God to come in.
True trust shifts our focus from our problems to God's character, which naturally silences anxiety (Isaiah 26:3). All that God requires from believers is faith—that he is able and is beyond whatever situation we are in. We may not understand the process or his ways, but he requires that we choose his way daily, setting aside doubts and every form of it. To trust God, we would first understand that no amount of our worries can add a single solution to our problems, just like in Matthew 6:27. So let go of that fear, let go of the worries of tomorrow, and shift our focus to God's character—that nothing is too hard for him to do.
