Church Culture

The world has evolved and so has the church. There has been a gradual drift in the culture and worship atmosphere as it imitates the secular system. The Bible described the early church as a place of prayer, solution, provision, healing, and love, but that's not what some of the churches represent today. Instead of solution, there's burden; instead of prayer, people seek fun, and the place of worship has become a place where the secular system of music has slipped in. The church has lost its power while trying to seek validation from society.

The culture the church was known for is gradually being replaced by strange cultures introduced by a body of people to suit their lust and greed. They tell you to pay back evil with evil because it makes one smart; they tell you one who loves is a fool and is always cheated on; they tell you you'll need to buy your way into deliverance or that our sin has been redeemed already. There's been so much confusion that even those who are strong in faith begin to doubt the very thing they once believed. The old ways, which were filled with power and grace, are ridiculed, and the church now looks like a thing of mockery.

But there's hope for the Church. While a few have deviated from the faith, a generation is coming that is hungry for the old ways. A generation like the great apostles that sought power, not for their gain, but to restore the hope and faith of many whose faith is faint. The church was built and there's a promise that covers it even against the gates of hell. The culture may be drifting, but there are a few others who keep the lamp burning regardless, like the ten virgins. The church culture may have thorns in it, but among them are ones of good report—hold onto them.
