Is Praying Enough To Get Closer To God- Topic Review

Happy Lord's Day brethren and trust we had a great day in God's presence today.

Talking or taking a review on this topic is like proceeding on the sermon we were admonished with in church today which was on the topic;
Know your Lord thy God and keep his commandments.

These things are just the basics of life and not too far from the comparison of a family. Me requesting and asking for the things I need from my earthly dad, does it mean that is making me close to him? Even when I fail to listen to him and follow his instructions.

He asked me to be a girl he will be proud of but I chose to fight with everyone in our street.
He asked me to protect his name but I chose to disgrace him in the public.
He can't be happy with me and In fact I am bothering him and disturbing his ears whenever I open that mouth of mine to ask him for something cos he will neither do it nor listen to my words and thats when they say our supplications turns to be like a barking dog.

God has his commandments that he has laid down for us to follow as a child to his father who is supposed to be obedient so before we go on our knees to ask what we need from him, we need to check ourselves and ask this question, am I still in accordance with his will? Am I still keeping to his words and following his commandments?

He who is against the law can't be looked at with a friendly sight so before we can become closer to God, we must ensure that we are doing his will and that is when our prayers can be heard and also make us closer to God.

It's not about the hours of communication with God at our secret and sacred alters but it's about how we listened and follow his will so that as we commune to get closer, our sins are not drawing us back and denying us of his attention and intervention.
