I checked my vote, and I am still voting for Liotes. I hope you are able to make the witnesses profitable, but its understandable if you have to shut it down because it isn't. I don't think it would change my faith in the project.
We will do all our possible to keep it running but we need to be able to cover the costs to do that. Therefore every vote counts for us.

The votes for the witnesses are expiring over time. So it's possible that after a while the votes are lost and it's difficult to compensate them. Hopefully we get some more votes to bring us back into profitability.
Yes, some may not have renewed their votes. Hope they get to check and support you again.
