Mr. Magic Man (Manhwa)

Cheondong pops out of nowhere chased by a group of men, finds herself in the car of someone who looks a lot like The King and ends up having a hot make out sesh with him. Right there in the car.

Maseong on the other end is baffled by the audacious wench, and against his better judgement he is lured in by her charm. He feels like she’s up to something but for some reason, he also feels he can trust her. How much can he trust her though, especially with this secret weighing heavy on him?

When I started this Manhwa, I already knew it had to do with time travel, I expected a happy ending but this one was bittersweet. Watching Maseong and Cheondong interact had me on a roller coaster. They went from hot to cold to extremely hot it rippled through my lower abdomen.

It was still PG although there are themes of child abuse and violence. Characters like Grandma who had a thing for handsome young men also added to the excitement. There were moments of pure comical humor and then there were moments that made you ask, “what is this leading to?”

The twist as the story came to a close is something I didn’t see coming. The whole follow up with the characters side story gave more depth to it. The obsessive and destructive nature of some of the characters added layers to it. I already knew they were bad news.

Despite having amnesia, Cheondong was quite adept with her environment. She was no damsel in distress and she was quick witted. This manhwa left me with a bittersweet feeling because tragedy struck but it still was necessary for the progression towards the end.

I have to applaud the story writer and the artist for giving us this. Reminded me so much of “A Time Called You”. The art is amazing and the plot just got deeper with each episode. I still remember feeling sad at how it turned out but happy that they got their deserved ending.

This is 4/5 stars for me. I’ll be checking out more of these. Seems I’m taken with comics.
