HEART OF GRATITUDE

"Appreciate where you are in your journey even if it is not where you want to be" this is a saying I have come to terms with as I navigate through life with optimism because life will not always play as you want it to regardless of how prepared you are. Being thankful and showing gratitude for little things in life will open more doors, present opportunities and attracts loyalty towards you. Looking at my life and everything thing around me, I realise there are so many things that am being thankful for even though difficulties and challenges keep increasing on a daily basis never relenting

The little moments of joy I get to experience with those around me and the very air I breathe freely without being hospitalised and put on oxygen is sufficient enough for me to be grateful for this life. At the beginning of this year, I set some goals for myself to achieve before the year runs out and even though we are in the second quarter of the year already, things are looking more difficult than I anticipated but not impossible to navigate through it. I encountered an incident a month ago when I was given an assignment by my boss to carryout, I was to travel to a particular site to assist a superior of mine in the site because alot of project were ongoing and all hands were full. On my way taking a public transport, the driver did something foolish that nearly cost us our life's

The driver was speeding and we were approaching a sharp bend with a vehicle ahead of us, the driver decided to overtake as if he was been chased and immediately we at the front shouted at him because that was the wrong thing to do at that time because he didn't even slow down to check whether a vehicle was approaching ahead and immediately he started overtaking we sighted another vehicle ahead also overtaking from the opposite direction with speed, everyone in the car began panicking because the road being a single lane cannot accommodate two cars overtaking at the same time

Finding himself in a pinch, our driver decided to increase his acceleration hoping to cover up the little space available before the other car clash with us but as he accelerated, it became evident that the two vehicles will brush each other at the driver's side and as we were bracing for the impact, the vehicle we were overtaking suddenly decelerated to give us more space to enter his front and immediately our driver took the opportunity and maneuvered narrowing dodging the incoming vehicle. Everyone in the car suddenly breath out, feeling relief from the accident that would have occured
As the journey continued, the driver received countless warnings from the passenger's with some even threatening to exit the car and their money refunded to them. You see, that experience alone is enough for me to thank God and it made me remember a passage in the bible that says "Put God first in your life and try to do what is right and God will take care of everything else you need"

My mum being an irreplaceable jewel in my life is someone I am more thankful towards, she has been praying relentless for my life and progress and even though I know alot of parents do pray for the success of their children, permit me to boast here that mine is the best. Even when things are tough she supports me no matter how little, like when I paid my sister school fees as she resumes 200lvl in school and I was short on funds to get a smart phone for her because her previous phone was stolen, my mum just transferred some money to my account without my consent saying i should add with the little i had to get the phone for my sister

Am also grateful for the friends I have, who seems more like brother's to me than friends. These are guys that no matter how tough a situation you get into and you communicate it with them, they are always there to offer their support and if it's financially regardless of how little they have, they contribute to help solve your problems without thinking twice and this has strengthen the bond of brotherhood amongst ourselves, solidifying it and making one thing clear "When someone helps you and they're struggling too, know that's not help, that's lovely".

I hope you did not get bored with me, am just really thankful for alot of things and people in my life that I cannot stop talking
