It's amazing how even among people considered stingy, there are still those who would lend a hand to help when a situation calls for it. I believe one of the purposes for every single human on earth is to be of help to another human and it doesn't have to be in every way, just any possible.
My parents are givers, I watch them and I'm surprised how they can be so selfless in giving even when they don't even have that much of it to give. Honestly, sometimes I don't feel happy when they do. I see how these people who ask for help take their good for granted or feel entitled to it, it's discouraging but not to my them.
There are indeed many reasons to reach out to people and sadly, the most common one is, "Giving with the mind that they will get back when the time comes". Many people see giving as a way to ask for whatever in the future, an insurance if I call it that. We forget that giving should be merely to save a person or a moment.

We forget that giving is a way of showing appreciation to God who has made it possible that we're capable of giving that help. And many always think of money when they hear of giving, even I used to think that way. But the truth is, giving advice, encouragement, visiting someone, being happy for someone and assisting is giving.
Personally, I have always given for three different reasons, out of sympathy, because I have the help they need and because God commands me to give. I may have not helped much people with money as I've helped with being of assistant or sharing my meals but one thing is certain, I rarely say no when I have the help that another needs.
I believe it's slowly becoming my lifestyle, if it isn't yet. At some point, I intentionally find ways I can be of help to another and this is because I have come to see the blessings in doing so. Not being blessed by those I help, maybe by reciprocating. But it's being blessed by having that joy in my heart that someone got it from me.
And then, the joy that people are watching me someway and learning to give also. I may be far from how my parents give so freely but I definitely took a bit of them and I'm reaping it's goodness. Although I've learned recently, not to let someone take advantage of my helping heart.
