No Such Thing As Good Addiction.

Talking about addiction, I can't say there's something like a "good addiction." The fact that it already carries the name "addiction," speaks a lot. Addiction in very simple terms is when something controls you, when you've lost control of a thing that you do, then that's addiction.

When you're doing something and you're so in it to an extent that you find it hard to stop, even when it's doing you a lot of harm. That's what we refer to as addiction, because it has gone out of hand and you've lost control over it.

The word addiction in itself carries weight, carries everything relating to harm, so there can't be anything good about what we refer to as an addiction. And we all know that addictions can be different. Addiction can affect us and different things that pertain to us, talk of health, relationships, mind, finance, goal and a lot of things.

And most of these things that later turn out to be addictions don't just turn out to be like that, they start from the little things, things we see as small and enjoyable. But along the line, they grow and began to demand more from us. And because they are already an addiction, something we've lost control over, we're unable to stop.

Now, most of the things that grew into addictions are habits. That is where the good and bad comes in, there are good habits and there are bad habits, but when a good habit grows into becoming an addiction then there's absolutely nothing good about it anymore. But when our habits are under control we can decide to stop, start, continue, or pause at anytime. Meaning it is not an addiction then and very much under control.

So, I don't think there's anything like a good addiction, the fact that the word addiction can now be used to describe such a thing already means the person involved has lost control over such habit. Maybe it would have been something like passion, something we have a strong passion for, but even if it's that, we will have control over it.

In conclusion, we should try as much as possible to build very healthy habits and make sure it does not turn into excesses thereby making us lose control over it. We can do things, enjoy, be passionate and such, but not that we will lose control of such a thing.
