Help Isn't Always A Yes But It's Always Honest>> Hive-Reachout Weekly Prompt 111.

I feel like giving a lending hand to someone doesn't really have a criteria, it most times have different methods or ways by which you render the help, today it must be someone guilt tripping you to help, tomorrow it might be that you saw a need in that person and decides to help, next time it might be the person asking for help genuinely... Like I said earlier this help thing doesn't really have criteria to follow so for today I would be sharing with you a very recent experience that I had which very much relates to "is there anytime it is fine to look away from helping someone or rendering assistance".

I have this very sweet neighbor of mine in my compound here in school that I relate with on a very personal level, I would say that to me she has graduated from being just a neighbor to being my friend, you should also know that neighbors who turn friends in school have this very common characteristic which is sharing cooked food among themselves, and yess that characteristics is also found in this ship called friendship and just as you might have guessed it is not always smooth with us.

She's the kind of person that sometimes don't like cooking, so she depends on junks mostly but when I got into the picture it became slightly different, whenever I cook she would just knock at my door and after doing what brought her, she would fetch food and eat. If you are doing the calculation with me you will know that if I normally cook once in two days it would definitely change because the food would be finishing faster, if my gas would normally last for a month then it would be shorter because I frequent my cooking, then foodstuffs, ingredients and other stuff.

Don't get me wrong she also cook sometimes but I do most of the cooking with my ingredients and foodstuffs, so this fateful day I had calculated that for the next two days I would be so choked up with lectures that I wouldn't have the time to cook, so I cooked a food that would last me for two days then I just kept it under my bed, she came into the room as usual but couldn't find anytime eatable so she went to her room and started cooking because she was hungry and had no alternative for eating, I felt so bad that she knew I cooked and hid it away from her because definitely she perceived it but then I had no other choice.

I honestly felt bad but I saw a positive impact came out of that little drama, she was motivated to cook food, there are many times that it's fine to turn away from helping people or rendering assistance because most atimes they take that for granted and even trample upon you, in the sense of taking your simplicity for stupidity.

I feel like we can humbly turn away at the point where it's so obvious that the person takes the help for granted and just want to get things easily instead of working for them, it might feel like you aren't doing the right thing but trust me the end result of it would be gratitude.

I still remain your favorite host and do have a lovely week ahead.
