Daily Blog: Wrapping Up a Productive Week at School

Today marks another beautiful chapter in my teaching journey, and I couldn't be happier to share how my day went.

The first examination week for my Grade 1 students is finally over, and I am proud of how well they did. Seeing their efforts, determination, and enthusiasm throughout the exams truly warmed my heart. To celebrate their hard work, I prepared a simple sweet treat for them. The joy and excitement on their faces as they enjoyed their reward made every sleepless night and every moment of preparation worth it. It reminded me why I love being a teacher — seeing my students happy and learning is genuinely priceless.

To make our Friday extra special and to wrap up our week on a fun and exciting note, I prepared a simple yet enjoyable activity for my Grade 1 students — a game entitled "Say the Letter, and I Will Write It."

After completing our first examination, I wanted to give my pupils a chance to relax, have fun, and review what they had learned at the same time. The mechanics of the game were elementary: I would say a letter aloud, and the students needed to write it correctly on the DIY whiteboard I made especially for them. The person who received the correct letter first and demonstrated accuracy and speed would receive a small prize as a reward.

The moment I announced the game, the classroom instantly filled with excitement and anticipation. My students were eager, cheerful, and full of energy, ready to showcase their knowledge while enjoying the activity. As the game progressed, the classroom was filled with laughter, happy cheers, and playful competitiveness, creating a light and joyful atmosphere.

What I loved most was seeing how confident and motivated the students became, knowing that their efforts would be recognized and rewarded. This simple game not only served as a fun break from our usual lessons but also helped reinforce their learning and boosted their enthusiasm. It was heartwarming to see them participate actively, helping each other and celebrating every small win together.

The prizes may have been simple, but the smiles on their faces were priceless. Ending our week with this activity reminded me of the importance of creating meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences for young learners — where they can have fun, feel appreciated, and leave the classroom excited for the next week of learning.

Aside from the examinations, today was also spent monitoring our school's "Gulayan sa Paaralan" project. I had the chance to observe and guide some of my pupils' parents as they helped nurture our vegetable garden. It's inspiring to see how dedicated they are, working hand in hand with us teachers to ensure the project's success. Our garden is slowly flourishing, and it brings me so much joy to imagine how these vegetables will soon benefit our students and the community.

And finally, it's Fri-Yey! After a week filled with tasks, deadlines, and activities, the long weekend ahead feels like a sweet reward not just for me, but for everyone at school. I'm grateful for this very productive week, which included accomplishing examinations, managing classroom activities, and supporting school projects. Moments like these remind me of the fulfillment that comes from being part of my students' growth and working alongside passionate parents and colleagues.

I'm ending this week with a grateful heart, looking forward to recharging over the weekend, and coming back next week with renewed energy and positivity. Every small victory, every little smile, and every shared effort make this teaching journey even more meaningful.

It is very heart warming to see that they are happy even on little things or reward.
