It's A Baby Boy

I decided to visit my friend who has gone to her daughter's place to take care of her because she had just given birth to a bouncing baby boy on the eve of their 10th wedding anniversary.

When I arrived, the house was full of people who had also come to rejoice with the family. Her friends from the school where she teaches, their relatives and well wishers were everywhere. Everyone was smiling, talking, and congratulating the new parents.The house was filled with happiness ,not only because of the newborn baby, but also because of the wedding anniversary.

They had already killed a goat and used the meat to prepare pepper soup. And according to the mother of the newly born, her husband had earlier paid a huge sum to a palm win Tapper who brought fresh palm win to them. So they served palm wine and pepper soup to the visitors. Although I could not eat the pepper soup because I had already eaten before coming, but I must confess that I enjoyed the aroma that filled the house.

But I drank the palm wine and I enjoyed it because it was freshly tapped. I spent quality time with the family and friends that came visiting, we talked about different things, we laughed, we played, the mother of the newly born even shared her journey in the labour room at the hospital. We were all happy.

Before I realised it, night had already fallen. So I gave the couple a token gift, since i couldn't get them any gift on my way coming. And she appreciated it beyond my expectations , couple with the fact that I took my time to visit her. My friend and her mom were really happy, she saw me off to the gate and I was happy that my presence was honoured. So I had to go, I bided her goodbye and left, I must confess that I left feeling happy.

But something suddenly happened, the moment we partted, I became very hungry to the point that my whole body started jerking. Then i wondered; could the palm wine be responsible for that? I quickly boarded a mini bus that dropped me off at my bus stop. I looked around for something light that I could buy and eat because it's already night and I don't eat late. I saw sauced cow skin, I bought some and ate them on the move. immediately my strength was renewed I drank water and was able to walk to my house. 😀😀😀😀😀
