A Suitable Place to Relax?

This morning I went to work to take some clients on a tour to Ubud town and the surrounding area. I went to their hotel on the outskirts of Ubud, called Ubud Village Resort. I have been to this hotel several times in the past. Since I arrived half an hour earlier, I walked through the path into the villas spread out at the hotel just to fill the time.

I could see the garden between the villas, full of trees and flowering plants. The sound of birds in the air, together with the light of the morning sun, was very pleasing.

There was a big tree with small leaves, which I first thought it was moringa tree. But looking closer I realized, it was not. Anyway, I touched the tree, because I read somewhere it is good to touch the tree. Next, I continued walking along the path.

There were many statues, some of them spouting water that flowed into ponds below. The sound of the water hitting the ponds was relaxing.

I went to the lobby to have a better look at the hotel layout. From this higher place, I could see the villas nicely built around the area. There was also a rice field nearby, and a pool in the middle, surrounded by coconut trees, ponds, and paths leading to each villa. Green grass and plantations also added to the view.

It- was quite a serene place. I thought about someday staying at this hotel. I imagined being relaxed and pampered by the beautiful scenery and friendly staff.

But then I thought again—maybe I wouldn’t feel so relaxed here, because this place is part of my work. My brain will keep associating it with work, so maybe not the best place for me to rest.
