Unplanned Food Trip with Friends after a Successful Community Visit

Greetings everyone. I hope you are having a wonderful day and always safe wherever you may be.

As for me, I would say, I had a great day together with my friends. Like what others say, It would always be great when you are with the right people. The weather is so hot today but we always bring umbrellas to keep us protected and water to keep us hydrated. After our successful community visit, a couple invited us for some snacks because their house is just nearby. Since we are available, most of us agreed to go. I also love to visit their place because it feels cool and peaceful there.

I felt so excited to learn that they were making banana turon, it is a popular Filipino street food and dessert with saba bananas and brown sugar wrapped in spring roll wrappers. It is deep-fried until golden and usually caramelized with brown sugar. But as for our version, we no longer caramelized it from the outside.

When I came, they were almost done wrapping everything and gonna start frying.

While frying outside, we also took time chatting and telling funny stories. But my eyes are set at the banana turon, I am truly craving to eat some. I guess, I am not the only who is excited to eat as all of us gathered outside cheering up the other girls who are frying.

As soon as we were done frying, we started to dig in after saying a prayer of thanks. Oh as expected it was truly yummy. The banana is already ripe which totatally matched the saltiness of the wrapper. Plus, I just learned that it would taste more delicious if you put some margarine and sprinkle white sugar. Oh, I would say, it was not enough. The plate was emptied in just few minutes.

But I am grateful that I got to eat my cravings and we just agreed that we will make banana turon again in another time.
It is also funny because we just planned to stay for some snacks but the invitation was extended. We were offered to stay for lunch so we stayed. We agreed to have pancit and stewed beans for lunch.

It was kind of nice though. Well I guess, nobody wants to go home yet, we all wanted to stay and enjoy more the company. Regardless how simple the meal may be, what we appreciate is the great company. We love being together. As we helped with the preparations we also laughed at each other stories. It was also time for us to encourage one another during this difficult times and I considered it a rest from my routine activities at home. This are the kind of people I want to be always with and being with them makes me feel relaxed, comforting and fun. I hope we always get to meet such kind of friends
