So it rained today…

This rain made me incredibly happy today.Firstly, because i won't have to go to my workplace early plus the weather was so peaceful.

11:15 AM

At 11:15 am after arriving at my workplace, the worms in my belly were emphasizing the first line of Seyi Vibez song titled “Billon Dollar”which was “Time dey go oo ma fakoko sere”(Time is going, don't joke with your time) lol. I couldn't take it anymore so I stepped out to go search for a lifesaver. By the way this woman in this picture sells the best beans in the whole of CMS Lagos, I almost lost it one time when she didn't show up for 2 weeks straight. Also I pray God blesses whoever discovered Bread and Beans Combo, its literally one of the best combo of food ever.

Bread and Beans

So, I got back to the office with my food, and I quietly snuck off to the archive room, food in hand. Why? Because I do not need an audience when I eat, I’m not about that life. I shot the door behind me like I was hiding state secrets lol, set up my little food station, and went to town on that plate of Bread and Beans like it was my last meal. I was savoring every bite, avoiding the awkward eye contact and judgmental stares of people who act like they’ve never seen someone demolish a meal before.
Once I finished (and honestly, probably faster than I’m proud of), I kicked back and stretched out like I had just completed a marathon. I sat there for a good 30 minutes, contemplating life, food. Lmao, you know the vibe—food coma, doors locked, and pretending I’m "working" while really just digesting in peace. Then I casually strolled back to my desk like nothing happened, totally refreshed, but with a full stomach and zero regrets.

Free food saved the day

At 3:15 pm, I was deep in thought, fantasizing a master plan to hit the fire alarm and cause a building-wide evacuation and make my grand escape back home like a stealthy ninja. I had it all figured out, right timing, swift movements, no one would suspect a thing! Lol. While I was still in my thoughts, someone loudly announced it was their birthday and generously laid out this beautiful spread of food. Suddenly my whole escape fantasies crumbled. Why risk it when free food is on the line? Lol. So glad I didn't go full “Mission impossible”. Free food always wins lol.

Moment of Truth

Finally, it was time to leave the office. Honestly, I didn’t even wait until 5 pm,I was so tired, I bolted like a kid hearing the school bell ring lol. I called this moment the “moment of truth” because I found myself standing at the spot, yes the same spot where I once boarded the bus and got robbed. Ah, memories. So there I was, standing for almost an hour, trying to act normal while struggling with flashbacks. Every bus that passed felt like a plot twist waiting to happen. It was like my personal trauma marathon. Honestly, wild experience for real. But hey, at least this time, I didn’t have to do an impromptu donation of my Phone.

Bravery in Transit

I finally gathered the courage to get my butt on a bus again. Let me tell you, I held my phone in my left hand with a "Superman grip" so tight that even Thor couldn't have pried it loose. Unfortunately, I left my trusty screwdriver (a.k.a. my “weapon of choice”) at home, so my right hand had to step up as my defense. And oh, I wasn’t playing! I had my fist clenched so hard, I swear if Prime Iron Mike took a punch from me in that bus, it would’ve been a straight KO—he’d be down in one hit! My hand was locked and loaded, ready for anything. One bitten, twice times shy? Nah, more like one bitten, ten times ready to throw hands.lol
