Hi, Hive peeps! š
Rajah Patria here! I am new here in the Daily Blog community. Nice to meet you!
For my third post, I thought of sharing my love letter to our dear skies as part of my daily life. Original for my Saturday post, but I didn't get to finish editing the photos. #SereneSaturdays š„°
Have you ever looked at the sky and been amazed by its uniqueness? It is always different at various times. I always wish I had a camera in my eyes to capture it in real-time and in the quality my eyes have.
Although I am a night owl and feel more energized in the evening, I like watching the sunrise and meditating on our balcony. Whenever I close my eyes and practice mindfulness, I think about the energy of my surroundings.
I always time it so I will open my eyes and witness the sun emerging from the earth's surface and making its way to the darkness that once ruled the night sky.
Sometimes, I eat afterward and sunbathe in the first hours of the morning. I have recently tried to tap into my five senses. It is one of the newest things I learned from listening to Happier by Gretchen Rubin. I will talk about this in the future, but according to her, there is one sense that we all neglect.
Mine is hearing. I have no problem with my senses, as I have hypersensitivity. Still, sometimes mundane noises are too much for me, so I always go to a serene place.
Early mornings are a gift to my ears, and I always try to take advantage of them before other people buzz off to work in their cars. This way, I can hear the breezy wind blowing, the humming of early birds, and the rustle of leaves dancing with the air.
The view of the skyline from our balcony is immaculate. I can see the skyscrapers of the neighboring cities around us: Makati City, Mandaluyong City, San Juan City, and Manila City. Sometimes it's dark and raining, usually full of clouds, and occasionally beaming sunrays pierce my eyes.
I do not just favor sunrises and mornings; I also enjoy sunsets and the night sky. As I have said, I like peaceful and quiet moments. To me, the act of the sun withdrawing from the sky to give way to darkness and the moon is as majestic as sunrise.
Sunrise gives off the sensation of hope and immense positive energy. At the same time, sunset signifies the end of the day and time for resting. Mornings are made to witness rainbows in the water and after rain. Meanwhile, afternoons paint the whole sky with various hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink as if celebrating our hard work by the end of the day.
Last but not least, the evening skies! Their calming dark blue aura allows us to highlight the flickering lights of homes, offices, buildings, and other illuminations. It makes them magical and mesmerizing, like little stars when seen from afar.
As most people retire in their beds and lower the artificial lights, that's when the moon and stars glow the most. The big white light, with different shapes depending on the cycle, and the moving clouds affect the stars' visibility. I know science can explain many things, but the magical sense I feel is beyond comprehension.
One thing is for sure: I have yet to see the northern and southern lights, the cosmic and ethereal rays of the aurora borealis and australis.
