Some Prices Have to Be Paid

There are things in life; such as opportunities, privileges and the like, that could come to us on a silver platter. Or to say, on a platform of no labour or effort, just a privileged opportunity. Better still to say, a gift or inheritance of some sort. Yet, there are things; and largely are they, that one would have to labour for, put efforts, or much more, pay the price for them.

Some prices have to be paid. You recall the statement, “no pain no gain” right? Yes, that echoes the discourse here. Some things won't come on a platter of gold or silver, they have to be laboured for and contended for to attain the expected height, result or outcome. That in my reasoning agrees with the “no pain no gain” popular statement. Many find it as a motivational statement, which could be said to be helpful in that sense.

You look around, in life, you could realise how much this stands true. Food doesn't come to the lazy. One has to labour their way into this reality. Sometimes though, there's a tendency to gain a favour and get that thing desired without a commensurate effort or labour or price paid to achieve it. For the most part, one has to pay the labour to gain the fruit-the fruit of their labour.

Some time back, I got engaged in this thought. I guess it was after or during a lot of work, or efforts I was making to achieve something, to reach an expected outcome. As a graphic designer and one with the passion and flair for digital things and skills, I found myself thinking, considering how much it takes to attain a certain height in this craft and skill. How much to achieve the desired result?

It was in such a moment that this matter sounded well enough in my head. That there are no two ways about some things. Sometimes, so you just have to pay the price for the prize. It's an unpalatable reality, but one true in all its essence. The reality surrounding this makes it a burden, however, the rewards afterwards are beautiful to behold.

Today, we find people who have paid the price in one endeavour or the other and have reaped the rewards, recounting what and how it took them to reach there. And that serves as a motivation and encouragement to others. It seems though that the reality about this is gradually dwindling, hence we could see that many people are not willing to pay the price for what they desire.

In all ramifications, there's a price to pay; be it the good or the bad. Yes, even for those things that are not right or honourable, a price is also paid to achieve them, which isn't advisable in any way to tread that path. I can recount that even from what I saw in a movie recently. Nevertheless, if things improper and upright could demand a price, how about that which is right, honourable and truly rewarding?

We have to pay the price for our choices whether good or bad

Well said sir, for everything we desire, a price must be paid in other to achieve it regardless of what that things is. The price to pay might be little or much.

The price to be paid should also be weighed and the consequences established before paying the price.

Of course paying the price for a good deed will reap benefits rather than consequences.
