This weekend we visited one of my favorite Seattle area bars: Vons 1000 Spirits. We first found out about this bar in Seattle when we looked for a place to eat within a walking distance from a Benaroya Hall where we frequently visited classical music concerts.
We walked in not expecting much from this place, but one visit was all it took to make us love this place. The service was excellent, pizzas, pastas and drinks simply exceptional. A few years later they opened up the Woodinville location that is pictured above and is much closer to us than downtown Seattle.

As you can see Vons 1000 Spirits had a long history for a West Coast bar/restaurant, they also told us that they will be taking over the space left vacant by one of our favorite French restaurants in Kirkland: Feast.
It was somewhat of a bittersweet news to me. It is great that they are going to be located in a very central downtown Kirkland location that has an awesome space and a location well known to us. But this was the first time I learned that Feast is no more. I have some great memories from that place with my daughter and wife.

Sure, our last few experiences at Feast with food quality were less favorable than in the past, which is one of the reasons why we have not visited Feast in a little while and didn't know that it closed. But I still remember all the great experiences we had there.
How our daughter loved eating their clams dish and it was her favorite food until she tried seafood dish at the Five restaurant. How we went there during the Covid days, how we ordered dark chocolate desert and our daughter finished the shared desert before we got around to it. Some really fond memories about Feast. But Feast is no more... the only constant in life is constant change.

But back to our latest trip to the Vons 1000 Spirits. Our daughter ordered cheese pizza, I got to try some of it and it was delicious. I have especially enjoyed their freshly made from scratch sourdough.
I ordered myself their All Day Bolognese pasta that is also made in house from scratch. It was as always excellent. This time I have added mushrooms to it based on the suggestion from our server. I love mushrooms so I realy liked this modified All Day Bolognese.

I ordered myself a simple Scratch Manhattan for $7.99, it is a nice and quite strong for a Manhattan drink, they definitely do not mess around. But as you can see from the image above you can get really fancy with your drinks at this place.

We finished up with the Salted Caramel Apple Strudel. Though saying that it was we would not be entirely accurate as my wife said that it was not her type of the desert and our daughter said that it was way too sweet.
So I ended up finishing almost the entire Apple Strudel which we planned to share among the three of us. I really enjoyed it, but in my case Apple and Caramel with lots of sugar is what I love.
Overall it was a great family experience and a nice way to celebrate eight of March.
Wow a Macallen 25, that's pretty impressive. Way out of my price range though! The 12 year runs about $80 a bottle in there parts. The food looks delicious. Sorry your French place went under though.
The 25 year old must be a lot more rare/valuable... I am not really a drinker, so straight bourbon or whiskey is good for me :)
Yeah, I mean, it takes 25 years for them to make it, so I think that inherently makes it more rare.
I'm not much of a drinker these days, and I was never any good at it even when I did partake. But that food looks delicious, they weren't kidding about being a gastropub!
Yeah, they are really good... Pizza is incredible there as well.
