I had a meeting at work the other day and it was labeled a "working breakfast". The organizer went on to explain that they were going to bring in "gourmet" doughnuts for everyone and we had to pick the flavor we wanted. Now, call me crazy, but I don't really consider doughnuts breakfast. I don't know what I was actually expecting, but this seemed about the unhealthiest option available.
I've never been one to turn down a good doughnut though, so I went with one called "Blueberry Hill", and I have to admit, it was fantastic. I actually thought it was going to be filled with something, but it wasn't. It was just a really dense fried piece of dough with a blueberry icing and powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Despite what @tarazkp has heard, this is one of the few times powdered sugar was sprinkled on something in America.

This is a typical weekend breakfast for me and though I doubt it is much healthier calorie-wise than the doughnut, I would like to think that it ultimately is better. There is at least some protein, and although the hashbrowns were fried once before, we use an air fryer to get them crispy at home.
This post isn't really about food though, I was just going through my photos from the week and that was a dang good looking doughnut, so I thought I would share it.
In case you haven't heard, there is a bug ruckus right now around a company(?) called Jane Street and the fact that they have been insider trading and manipulating the price of BTC for the past year or so. According to the story, they were behind the whole Terra Luna collapse, and more recently every day around 10 AM when the markets open they have been doing some shady stuff to suppress the price of BTC. Shout out to @ericvancewalton for sending me the info on this, though if you have been spending any time on crypto X lately, it's all over the place.
It makes a lot of sense, but there are still a lot of people who are pointing to the four year cycle and arguing that this is just a way to try and explain a cycle that has already been proven. With Jane Street under investigation now, time will tell if things will cool down and the price of BTC will go back up to where we hoped it would be at this point in time. There does seem to be a lot of evidence to support the Jane Street theory, but who knows. I think was is funny is that people on X are calling for the President to launch and investigation and knock some heads together.... Please, if you don't think he was profiting off this whole thing as well, you are totally delulu!
My favorite nulcer power company NuScale had their earnings call last night. I was going to connect to it, but I got busy doing other things and I had to have some kind of special account in RobinHood, so I didn't feel like messing with it too much. I found out later last night that NuScale had reported earnings of -$.08 per share of SMR. I know that probably doesn't seem great, but I think this is the closest they have come to breaking even since they went public. I expect the price of the stock will be down at the opening of trading today. It's already pushing close to the IPO price of around $10 that I bought in at.

I got a message the other day that due to an increase in their hosting costs, Monster Market is going to be raising the price of their fees to host your SPS Validator Node. Sitting down in the 93 spot I know I am already close to probably breaking even or running at a loss between what I earn and what I pay them. With that in mind, I have been kicking around the idea of pulling my delegation to them and running the node myself. I just have to see if I have the hardware to make it happen.
That being said, if you haven't voted for me yet, head over there and throw me a vote if you would be so kind. The higher I move up the list the more I make and therefore the better deal it becomes for them to host my node for me. It's your vote though, use it however you want.
I'm at the point where I am just about out of DEC, so once this current season is finished, I think I am going to have to take a break from playing. I had a good run, but at 2000 DEC per pop, it was just a matter of time before the well ran dry.

The silver price is up a bit from where it was and seems to be holding steady right below that $100 mark that we briefly blew through a few months ago. @bulliontools has been writing some good posts about the precarious position that silver mining is in down in Mexico. There has been a pretty big resurgence of cartel violence down there lately, and it seems to be impacting a lot of different areas. With that going on and whatever China is doing, it will be interesting to see what ends up happening with the price of silver. At this point like crypto, I am kind of just along for the ride. Just buckle up and hold on tight!
My brother in law got our taxes taken care of the other day. I need to be sure to stop at the liquor store and pick him up a nice bottle of bourbon as payment. It ended up being pretty much the same thing we get back every year, which means we must be doing something right. Actually, the experts would tell you if you are doing everything right you would be getting no refund, but you also wouldn't owe anything. Getting a refund is like letting the government hold onto your money interest free for a year. While I get it, it's still nice to get that deposit in our bank account once a year.

Does breakfast have to be healthy? I thought it's supposed to give you energy to start the day.
It doesn't surprise me at all if people manipulate the crypto markets. Not so easy with BTC, but with smaller ones it may not take much. As I mentioned in my post someone is trading a lot of Steem. Maybe they want to get the price up a little to dump it. I've not seen any stats on who holds the most.
I'd like to think it is a little healthy since you are setting yourself up for the rest of the day. That doesn't always mean it is, but you know.

I did cast my vote for you but that won't change anything. I only had 10 SPS I believe. But maybe that can make a difference in a ranking spot at some point.
Good luck
Thank you!

I love donuts but just can't eat them anymore. I never was one to have them for breakfast but I do remember some old timers back in the 1970's who regularly started their day with coffee and donuts.
So now I'm hearing that Jane Street is just the one who got caught and there are more companies doing the same thing. I think the Wall Street suits are going to find a way to manipulate the market by any means necessary. Interesting though how the BTC prices seemed more buoyant for a short time after the Jane Street news was released.
I was hoping for more of a run heading into the weekend. Maybe hold at $80K for a bit or something. I have little doubt there are a lot of mechanisms in the mix trying to work it any way they can. It's pretty rare I have doughnuts now. This was a special occasion.
I need to finish my taxes for sure.. can't believe it's March basically already! I need a donut like that to motivate me :D
