Happy new month @cycling community. My son did not expect that his father would not give him a gift. Every year he receives 500 pesos from his father or $9 but now he missed giving his child. We didn't even celebrate my son's birthday. Luckily my son receives food supplies from the church. A pack of spaghetti and others from last season's holidays. I left a spare for my son's birthday and bought milk for a new recipe of the spaghetti.

From his allowance he bought a brake lever and a new cord for his bike. I also add some money so he can be able to buy what he really needs. I'm always thinking about his safety when riding his bicycle. These two parts only cost him 180.00 pesos or $3.1 that's a great deal.
And here are the parts that he bought. I helped him a bit by taking pictures lol 😆.
He used the allerings to replace the brake lever. From black it's now looking a stainless steel.
Then he replaced the cord for the breaks. That was his reason why he bought a new lever. If he needs to replace the cord he'll also put a new lever to it. Just one fixing needed, my son is clever when it comes to his bicycle.
"My son is quite the handyman when it comes to his bicycle! He recently replaced the brake cord and, cleverly, decided to install a new lever at the same time. By doing so, he ensured his bike's brakes are functioning properly and safely. I'm impressed by his resourcefulness and DIY skills. He's not only passionate about riding but also takes great care of his bike."
After he finish fixing his bike, Aaron went to drop by in the house. My son's bike is lot better than to his friends bike. My son wanted to give Aaron his other parts but it won't fit because it's part is different from my son's. But it doesn't matter their friendship is more important.
Because my son brought his bike home Aaron helped him to bring it to the road. At first they carry it to the boat and Aaron hold it for my son. It's really hard when nobody understands the situation we have. But Aaron lives in Water World he knows the struggle we also dealing with. Then their go happy cycling in the road.

It is really good that your son maintains his bike and that he does it himself.
