I guess, it is official that it not the Hive alone that is struggling in this crypto market but the king of the crypto Bitcoin is also losing it ground and now trading at below $70K. Actually it is not about the crypto, Gold and Silver are also acting as volatile assets with so much price fluctuations. Even equity market in my country is not looking promising as some of major sector like IT, Pharma, FMGC , Realty, and the power sector. Overall market indices are in the still at the same point where it was 18 months ago, as it dipped, recovered, and now somewhat stagnant at that level.

I guess, if the current Hive price is troubling you, and maybe you are feeling a little detached from Hive and your crypto activities, but still want to grow your Hive power in your absence, then I can guess leasing or delegate your Hive power. Delegating is a good option, but I see below as the main issue in delegation.

1.) Income is not fixed daily.

For the same amount of the delegation, you do get the different payment daily. Sometime payment are not even daily and there are weekly payment that do differ from previous week payments.

2.) Delegation Service provider fees.

There is fees for providing the service that can be 5 to 20% in some cases and delegation cause use to earn less Hive as compared to self-curation.

3.) Issues of missed payment.

Generally, Delegation services aregood in this front and do not miss the payments but still we have a very popular service that is famous for missing payment and slow resolution of the issues.

4.) Payments on the specific token.

Sometime you do not got Hive for delegation but you get the secondary tokens for it. Based on you interest getting secondary token is both advantage or disadvantage but if your fully concerned with Hive power than you need to trade them for Hive.

I am not against the delegation, and I encourage delegating to the communities and accounts that you like to support, but if you are neutral, then I will suggest looking at the Hive-Engine leasing feature. Only drawback is that leasing on Hive-Engine yield Swap.Hive. Now based on your use case, it can be good or bad. When I have to purchase SPS or DEC , having Swap.Hive in my account is a good thing in this particular case otherwise I have to pay max of .45% (or you may get extra based on uswap app liquidity) to convert swap.hive to Hive.

Also I noticed that users are paying upwards of 8.5% for some of the lease and in my opinion getting 8.5% as curation is higher than idle scenario. I guess ideally one can expect 8% as an standard for curation APR.

Also in current scenario, Hive staking APR is now around 4.1% . If you add leasing APR with Hive staking APR, you can ve easily getting 12 to 12.6 % returns on your staked Hive. It is good thing that delegating Hive do not forfeit your staking rewards and this is the same reason that if you delegated 1000 Hive to some other user, you will observe that after few days delegated Hive power is automatically become greater than 1000 HP.

I will leave to user to self-curate, use delegation services project or lease facility in Hive-Engine. It is a good option to keep earning passively when your real life requirement amd keep crypto prices are keeping you away from participating actively here.
