In Commemoration of World Alzheimerās Day ā September 21st
Theme: āAsk About Dementia. Ask About Alzheimerāsā
Alzheimerās disease is a progressive condition that gradually destroys memory and other cognitive abilities. As it worsens, daily activities and once-routine tasks become increasingly difficult or impossible to perform.
Many people mistake Alzheimerās for ājust old age.ā However, there are important differences:
With normal aging, a person may occasionally forget something but later recall it.
They can still hold conversations, though perhaps at a slower pace.
In Alzheimerās, memory loss is persistent, progressive, and deeply disruptive.
Why early recognition matters
Delaying medical attention can be devastating. The earlier symptoms are identified and reported, the better the chances of managing the disease effectively.
Common signs of Alzheimerās include:
Frequent memory loss and misplacing items
Struggling to recognize friends or relatives
Difficulty maintaining conversations despite being awake and alert
Confusion about dates, time, or familiar places
Trouble performing everyday tasks that were once routine
Although Alzheimerās currently has no cure, treatments and medications can slow its progression and help improve quality of life.
On this World Alzheimerās Day, letās create awareness, support those affected, and ask about dementia, ask about Alzheimerās.

Great piece of information from our dear Doctors. I heard of Alzheimer's from the series Grey's Anatomy first,but it's nice knowing that just because an old person forgets, doesn't mean they automatically have the illness. My appreciation for their research and the awareness.
