I follow a lot of dieticians online, and most of the time I see them contradicting themselves about what is truly right and wrong. Red meat, for example, has been one of the most contentious issues in terms of what is healthy and what is not. Half of professional dieticians believe red meat is unhealthy, while the other believes it is completely healthy.
The argument also extends to animal protein, and there are arguments for and against bread. In reality, the argument for bread is understandable, and most people will agree that bread is high in carbohydrates, processed, and contains preservatives, but there has never been a clear consensus on the consumption of red meat, eggs, and other animal protein.
In reality, humans are not generally proactive; rather, we are mostly reactive, which means that we wait for events to occur before treating or dealing with the consequences of our actions.
For example, dieticians would not be in business if people decided to eat in moderation; most of the things we argue about whether they are good or bad, if we ate them in moderation, the human system would not reach the point where it begins to malfunction.
I eat bread in moderation and rarely consume sugar, with the exception of carb-rich foods. I was not born knowing all of this; I really only started eating healthier after my diagnoses last year, and I have learned and unlearned a lot.
Dieticians frequently overestimate things. They can be like the horseman of the apocalypse at times, but that is because the fear they instill in people is how they make money.
I have seen and watched a lot of YouTube videos, and the way they say things is how they make money, especially when they are doing it for people who are already sick as a result of their lifestyle.
I am not saying they are wrong, but most of them say textbook things and lack scientific knowledge of current food research.
Some health practitioners are like this; they are stuck in their knowledge with no room for advancement.
For example, when it comes to the red meat argument, they (red meat) are a healthy source of animal proteins, as are eggs; there is no reason why anyone should limit themselves to lean cuts while avoiding fatty cuts.
Animal fats are healthy and do not clog arteries, unlike other types of unnatural fat. However, there are several reasons why eating red meat may not be entirely healthy.
One of the causes is a preexisting medical condition, which includes renal insufficiency. Being in stage 4 or 5 kidney disease is one of those preexisting conditions. Renal dieticians will always emphasize the importance of having healthy kidneys in order to handle animal protein.
This is why I say that people are reactive, which is not always our fault. I have some kidney impairment, but I can eat as much animal protein as I want because it is still healthy enough to handle.
Many people avoid certain foods due to autoimmune issues or other conditions, but the majority of the healthy population has acquired metabolic dysfunctions, which are the reason they need to see a dietician at some point in their life.
Diabetes is one of the most overlooked metabolic disorders. Many people have been prediabetic for years or decades without even realizing it. They only start doing something about it when they are fully diabetic or it is already too late.
Sodas, for example, are major villains when it comes to metabolic issues; however, soda in moderation is still acceptable. However, one aspect of moderation is that people act in accordance with their habits, addictions and all.
At one point in my life, I was completely addicted to soda, especially sweetened soda (most of them have zero sugar), and I would probably drink it four times a week until I realized that the conditions I have make it easier for me to develop diabetes than the general population.
In reality, people justify their eating habits rather than admitting that they are eating incorrectly and should probably practice moderation before it is too late. However, eating healthier can be stressful, expensive, and sometimes inaccessible.
Previously, many people believed that hypertension was caused by excessive thinking, but it is actually caused by stress and an unhealthy lifestyle. People need to learn and unlearn, but many people believe that they should only seek knowledge when they are in need, which has cost many lives.

This is exactly what we lack. Moderation.
But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be careful what we eat, especially when they add all sort of chemicals on the entire production chain, from land to the place where you purchase food from.
Yeah a lot of chemical seems to be involved, especially when the aim of large scale food production is mostly tailored towards profit making.
Eating healthier food can be very stressful Joe, unless one is diagnosed with an ailment which is why I agree with you that humans are reactive. Personally, I know many unhealthy food but it's just difficult to avoid them, but then like you said, observing moderation wouldn't affect our body system.
Overall, it makes sense if we can be disciplined enough to stick to eating more of healthy food for a healthy lifestyle.
You're right, there are so many things that aren't right, but we still eat them anyway. In my own way I try to eat in moderation those things that I know that we can't eat too much, bread for example. Well discipline. I think another to have is enough money because eating right takes a lot of money
Eating habits are hard but I tend to think of unhealthy foods as instant noodles, fast food, and snacks (cookies, chocolate, ice cream). I agree that moderation is key. Soda is a bad thing but when it is available, I find myself drinking it. However, I tend to just drink water otherwise and that tends to be most of the time.
Well Soda in moderation is not that bad, the habit of making it an addiction is what's bad. I have otherwise taken it off my list as it's been over a year for me without Soda. Water overall is very important but most times we underestimate it
This is just the fact - eating in moderation will do us a lot of good. But sadly, some of us would want to consume a whole chicken at once with bottles of drinks to flush it down. Thereby causing harm to our system. In fact it's food abuse, lol.
Drinks as we Nigerians call it is actually Soda and a lot of it is very harmful but we tend not to know because we're addicted to it, and some people cannot do without it.
You're very right. Some people can't stay a day without consuming these harmful drinks. Tell them to stop and they say "one thing will kill a man". It's sad

Its no doubt food does play a very important role in our health I've seen a man of 80 looking so fresh and young of maybe 30s and when i asked he said he maintains a very healthy diet that is good for his blood group.
Well I don't know about diet good for blood group, but generally, for such an 80 year old man it must've taken a lot of discipline and many years to maintain decent eating habit.
Our General pastor too has such good health and I think he's about 82 or 83

Advice my Father always gave us children "You Eat to Live, Not Live to Eat!" we had to eat a balanced diet, mostly growing in our own garden.

I feel it's not all that expensive to eat healthy, it's just a matter of choice and priorities, I have not consider that side of me which I should begin to,
We re just use to the things we've been eating since childhood without knowing the effects untill we re caught up with some internal issues,
which require us to now pay attention to what take in,
I think I should begin to build my healthy eating habit, by consuming more fruits and vegetables often...
