Recently the @thelastdash wrote about his hopes of starting a business in a DUO guest post, Well this seemed like a good opportunity to help one of our own, but also this has potential to help us with onboarding hopefully this is all a success and we have a story to share with the world about what hive and DUO is doing for folks.

@bitcoinman provided the loan of 400 HBD, He also took out 1636 DUO from the first tranche (400 HBD equivalent around time of writing) This helps us clear the tranche faster and the DUO is going to someone that is not going to be touching it for a long time until we are fully done with the tranches, this way our stakers end up with higher divs and votes as the team unlike the rest of you agreed to not stake more then 700 DUO and we also have not been getting curated by @duo-curator for damn near half a year.

speaking of that the mana seems to be struggling a little we will likely have to do some adjusting to the voting weights soon if things don't turn around on their own, it has been a while since we had to do any adjustments and as we mentioned for our next adjustment we are not going to lower the lowest class of 200 DUO and keep them at 10% in this next round of cuts.

@thelastdash will be paying back the loan in the way of @duo-guest posts, @bitcoinman and @thelastdash will keep track of all the post and their earnings until the total post earnings get to a value of 400 HBD.

We also hope to hear more of his business venture in some of these guest posts.

Like I mentioned this is an all around win win for everyone involved and it will be a super win if the business is a success, there is even more benefits like we somewhat secure our guest posts with @thelastdash doing 2 a week.

Changes to the guest rewards bonus

So we had some of our stakers had some concerns about our 5 DUO guest reward, and I know we mention that we try to listen to our stakers but the proof is in the pudding.

Effective immediately the 5 DUO guest author bonus is not longer available*

There is one exception we believe that alights wit the vision and goals of DUO, we are still going to offer this 5 DUO guest author bonus however this bonus would only be available to people we onboard with the HOC/DUO and they will only be able to take advantage of this deal up to 200 DUO ( 40 posts max) and they must not unstake any in the process.

With these loans that are getting covered in the way of guest posts we don't have to worry about guest slots for a while as much, however we still need to develop our reward system @rainbowdash4l shared a fairly interesting proposal in a comment( not the proposal he recently released what can I say the man is on fire )

Venezuela campaign

We are also super close to launching our Venezuela onboarding campaign with @fonestreet, we decided to pivot a little, there will not be cool QR codes however the overall idea behind the campaign is the same.

We figured a hand sprayed custom short URL will do and this way we can scale ie do more regions without having to have a bunch of different QR codes for each one.

More about this will be coming soon we are still working out the final kinks and looking to do our first tag bounty sponsored by the @bitcoinman, we are going to set up bounties for different regions as it takes recourses, travel, time and then some to make all this happen ... anyway more on this coming soon, this can help not only put us on the map on hive but also put hive on the map!

Important

DUO stakers are free to unstake as they please however we ask that when you do so you notify the DUO team, we set the curation up manually and letting us know keeps things fair for the other stakers.

Failure to do so will result in a 50% drop on curation on the remaining stake (Assuming its over 200 after the unstake as a reminder 200 is our minimum for curation) for a period of 1 week, there is no penalty for unstaking, only if it's done without notification to the DUO team.

We have targeted voting weights however they may be adjusted to ensure that @duo-curator is maintaining healthy mana levels.

Manual curation

When the voting mana is running high (above 85%) we have created a queue of our stakers who will receive an increased manual upvote when this is happening. First you must receive a normal vote from the @duo-curator to be eligible for the boost. The boost percentage will be up to 50% of a vote. Once you receive an additional curation your name moves to the bottom of the list so that everyone has a chance to benefit from this. New stakers that buy and stake at least 200 DUO will start at the bottom of the list to be fair.
