Welcome it's yet another post by yours truly mostly due to necessity.
My discord account has been suspended for a day, I was supposed to get a guest post from the @thelastdash but perhaps this is for the best as there have been some fairly important developments that we must address.

It has come to our attention that one our DUO stackers hive accounts has been compromised, there is still a lot that we don't know but we will be sure to try and find out more so that we can share with you all and hopefully keep the community safer.

We made some announcements in the duo-stacker discord letting our stackers about the situation and our best course of action at reducing the amount of money the hackers would get from selling duo when ironically my own discord account got hacked!

Without my knowledge and input my account started sending out mass dm's with some phishing links for some supposed 50$ gift as well as leaving messages in many of the discord groups I was in.

When it was brought to my attention I was stunned, I have not had to login to discord in the long time and I could not imagine how I could have been compromised.

I quickly went to the setting and changed my password, that went off without a hitch and that as well as a message from @raymondspeaks gave me the answer to my question.

It was not my password that got compromised, it was one of the services that I gave permission to use discord, after that realization I went to discord setting and I managed to revoke all the permission, there where plenty.

I added a 2fa to my discord and changed the password as I said however that is not enough! with this attack vector that will not protect you the permission you give to these apps can circumvent these, remove as many as you can.

Right bellow is a tutorial it is the same for mobile just got to the setting tab and authorized apps

I feel a bit ashamed that this happened and I hope no one was foolish enough to fall for it, I manually got rid of any of the links that got sent, and let folks know what was happening was quite the ordeal.

I have a bit of knowledge about cyber security and took some online courses on the subject however these are the remnants of the past I have not been using discord for anything serious in the past so I did not think twice about these authorizations but it looks like it came back to bite me in the but. range 50-60

Like I mentioned there was a really serious hack with an actual hive account being compromised from one of our stakers, we hope to learn more and pass on the knowledge so we can all be safer also the DUO team is also committed to restoring the DUO said user had from our personal accounts into their new account.

Well it has been a wild Sunday for many of us, and it has again made me think of an idea I had about having a permanent lock option for HP, It would be an extra option for the user/community account
