Hey lovelies ❤️

Welcome to my blog 🤗
Oops! The weekend is over. At this point I feel like we should rewind to Friday evening because I still need some rest. I worked so much last week that the weekend wasn't enough for me to fully recharge. Nevertheless, the hustle and grind must continue. Tomorrow is the start of a new week, the last week in the month of March. I'm looking forward to what the new week and month of April has to offer.
Onions are very important in almost every meal due to the unique taste and flavor it adds to meals and above all, the abundance of health benefits that it offers. However, it is one of those items that are not affordable in the market these days. There may be quite a number of factors responsible for this and one which I strongly believe may be a major one is the weather.
There have not been constant downpour for some months due to the current season in Nigeria, the dry season. There is always abundance of food in circulation during the raining season but farmers have to improvise using irrigation system. However, irrigation systems are not as effective as when it rains but it is still better than nothing.
On the other hand, I may partially blame the scarcity of fuel and the increase in the price of diesel on the high cost of products at the moment.
Most of the trucks that are used to transport these foods from the farm to markets in different cities are powered by diesel. The increase in the cost of transportation will definitely affect the cost of goods.
The prices of almost everything have increased compared to what it was this time last year but hopefully when the raining seasons starts we'd have more food in circulation. Food, especially the perishable ones are not always expensive during the raining season because they are in abundance and the farmers/sellers would not want it to waste or get spoilt in their farms/shops, so they sell at customer friendly prices.
