Hello splinterlands
Been a long time since I made a Splinterlands post, been busy with life and trips since we are in the festive seasons, and all the stress here and there made it impossible to get inspired to write a post.
This did not stop me from playing my favorite game though, I play Splinterlands every day, it is addictive!
I am still trying to max my cards, all the common and rare rebellion reward cards are maxed while I have maxed out 2 epic cards. Olivia of the Brook and Thanalorian Blade took me on a buying spree this season because I wanted to ensure I got Olivia maxed no matter the cost. After all, I lost a lot of battles because of it, and I have achieved my aim... Next season will be for the rest of the epic cards before I work on maxing the legendary then move to the gold foil editions.
There are some cards that players rarely use and that is because of some reasons but I used to say all cards are useful when placed in a battle with the right ruleset.
One of these monsters is Continuum Seer, a rare fire unit, it is one of the newly released reward cards with magic power, The abilities it possesses can be seen in the picture above, it has 2 abilities which are Backfire & Phase, Backfire does 2 physical damage to the monster that attack and miss continuum while phase is an ability that allows magic monsters to miss their attack on her. This monster will be good in the magic ruleset but players rarely use it because it only has 2 health.
What this monster lacks in Health is replaced with speed and power, it has 8 speed which is one of the highest in Splinterlands or should I say she is the monster with the highest speed on Splinterlands right now and she proved her worthiness in a battle I played today and defeated 3 of the opponent monsters alone!
We were given 3 rulesets.
The first rule was Equalizer which indicates the initial health of all monsters is equal to the health of the monster with the highest health in either team, this is what gives me the confidence to use Continuum since this rule solves her low health issue.
The second rule was Heavy metal which indicates only monsters with armor can be used, in this ruleset, players often use magic monsters so I know what to expect and what to use and I was well prepared for it.
The last rule was Heavy Hitters in which all monsters have knock-out ability, which causes fatal damage to stunned monsters.
As predicted
We used Magic monsters
Our monsters are similar, the tanks, Grimbardun Smith, and Moxian rebel with the weapon training stats to give the non-attack monsters magic power.
*The difference was his last monster Nalara Geinek with the silence and stun ability, the opponent really set his team according to the ruleset while I decided to use Continuum Seer and another magic monster instead of Nalara that cost 8 mana.
This is where the battle starts getting interesting, my continuum seer was the only monster still standing in my team and she was to face the opponent's 3 brutal monsters but guess what?
She killed them all! thanks to her speed and phase ability, she could not have done it alone without Lorkus summoner...
