Why Self-Kindness Matters

Kindness is essential, and everyone deserves to be shown kindness. When someone is kind towards you, they're both directly and indirectly giving you a soft landing in life, healing your inner wound and making you believe in yourself once again. When we talk about kindness, we don't always have to expect it from others; we ourselves must be ready to be kind to ourselves. You also need to care for yourself to the point where you'll be kinder towards yourself; doing that will greatly improve your life, and that's why in this article I'll be extensively talking about some of the reasons why we should be kind to our own selves.

Due to one disappointment, setback, or the like, many of us begin to be tough on ourselves, and while often further hurt and break us. We must understand that inasmuch as we want to be a better person and a good neighbor to those around us, that must first start within ourselves. Show yourself kindness first before you show it to others; that way you'll appreciate the power of kindness and want to spread it further to everyone around you. So talking about how we can be kind to our own selves. First on the list is for us to change how we talk to ourselves. You can't keep saying you're a failure or that you mess up; cut yourself some slack. After all, you won't say those terrible words to someone you love, so why say them to yourself?

Another way we can be kind to ourselves is by recognizing the fact that we're humans, meaning you can't always win, you can't always be perfect, or have everything going well for you. Coming to this reality will help us realize that struggles are part of life and we mustn't let them weigh us down. Additionally, we must stop punishing ourselves for past experiences or failures; being kind to yourself will help you leave the past in the past so you can move forward in life. Also, we must learn to say no. When you're kind to yourself, you'll know you also need attention and don't put yourself down because you want to be there for others; it'll help you to know when to rest and when to satisfy yourself to the fullest.

Being kind to yourself means you need to work towards meeting your own needs, like when to eat, when to buy something for yourself, and the like. It can also be you talking to yourself like a counsellor and not like a judge that waters down everything you do wrong. When you talk to yourself like a counsellor, it'll help you cut yourself some slack, realize where you're lacking behind, and take prompt steps to make your life better. That's about it on ways I believe you can be kind to yourself. Don't just invest; save or spend all you have on others. Do the same for yourself because you more than deserve it.

Just one mistake we forget all the struggles we had been through, some will not eat breakfast till noon just because they want to achieve success but true success doesn't mean over sufferness, we really need to be kind to ourselves

Something I’ve started telling myself now is that I’m only human and that’s because I just always fail to recognize that as Miss Perfect. So this totally resonates with me.
