Protecting Earth, Preserving Life

The world is being torn apart by different issues that are militating against it in different aspects, such as armed conflict and geopolitical tension, global health issues, climate change and environmental degradation, and many others. And with the way things are going, if care isn't taken, it's more like all these put together can lead to our end. Which isn't what any human in their right senses will want, and that's why in this article I'll be talking about the one global issue I'll be eradicating if I've got the power to do so.

While I understand there are lots of global issues out there that need to be curbed and would have loved to bring an end to all, these prompts said I can only pick one, and yes, I really wish I could eradicate issues revolving around climate change. which has gone on to increase the rate at which natural disasters occur, threaten food security, and displace humans almost on a daily basis. Solving these issues will save a lot of lives and have a positive impact on the world economy. Because at the end of the day, these not only affect individuals but also organizations and the nations where they occur at large.

While I understand my nation, Nigeria, isn't as affected by most of these issues as other nations of the world, I can't ignore the fact that on a yearly basis it keeps claiming lives, rendering people homeless, and destroying lives and properties in the process. All of these aren't anything to smile about. Just a few days ago we heard about how over 800 lives were claimed in the earthquake that happened in Afghanistan. These are depressing. Even the government and private sector will spend heavily on saving lives and providing a new shelter for them, which puts a huge weight on the country's finances.

So if I have the power, I'll definitely be eradicating issues surrounding climate change and environmental degradation, and that's because of the severe drought it has caused, the stronger storms it brings, the flood that takes over our streets and farms, and many others, to name but a few. I really hope something can be done to put an end to it, even though I really don't know if it's possible, as I see it as a situation that arises naturally.

My reason for wanting this isn't far-fetched at all; it's simply because I care for humanity and our existence and don't like the news I hear of people being involved in different natural disasters caused by the constant climate change.
