Why am I really not fond of reading books?
No doubt reading shapes one's intelligence, it help to focus and to communicate well it improves one's empathy, renew minds and create a better understanding indeed there are great importance of reading books but the question still remains why am I not really fond of reading books? here is the bitter truth about me and books!
Academically I can read to the core to pass my exams I don't mind reading the whole day because I hate surprises or to depend on someone for help, I'm a cheerful and a straightforward being I hate to pretend when I'm excited or sad my friend tend to know I like been practical and simple... one of the things that made me not to be so fond of reading books is that I hate bulky books I know that not all books are bulky mostly my preferred books are entrepreneur and spiritual books, apart from this two I'm just not used to reading other books. To me that something is good doesn't mean everyone should like it, just do what works for you.
Let say academically at a young age I wasn't rise that way since from nursery school to secondary school there was nothing like reading of novels, intellectual books or motivational books is basically academic curriculum, if is not in line with what I'm studying in school I'm just not interested I only go for things that interest me and I put my mind to achieve it no matter what...
I did some research about it and I realized I didn't start from little beginning maybe that was why is hard for me to get used to it even as an adult I tried countless times is just not my thing.
My little cousin anytime she comes back home she's always with books to read, it was made mandatory by the school management, at first I was surprised I wasn't given such an opportunity when I was her age I thought she was too young to read books but on a second thought is good to start early, gradually with time she became so fond of reading books as little as she is she started writing her own novels of one page to two three and more that was commendable I was really amaze by her dedication. I wish I had such an opportunity may be my school wasn't good enough to have such Principles of reading books at a young age. well I learnt my lesson and I assured myself my children will go to good schools.
my husband tried to make me a book reader he loves reading so he wanted me to do thesame but I wasn't yielding to request. is just like a chemistry student who started 400level in school instead of 100level is just impossible to understand what the course is all about...I believe one can be fond of reading books again though one step at a time may be starting with less bulky books not in a rush if not one intend to see it as a very tedious work my prior view about it.
During primary school days a supply of story books was made to my school by one of the pupils parents. The principal made it compulsory that every student goes home with a story book every Friday and then give a report of what you have read. Probably that's was what made me 65% a lover of reading.
Lucky you...mine nothing like such but I'm learning on how to love reading books.
It's hard to be fond of something you haven't been used to right from the beginning but people can still pick up from the present to grow themselves. I also don't like reading books or novels but that changed when I entered College of Education and I became a night reader which I now love today. I only took reading of personal development books this year and I have read 4 books within this six months. It's all a matter of self discipline too.

I read books mostly when they come highly recommended or are workbased. Read quite a lot while I was in school(thanks to all the school recommended books) so it's not so hard to read for fun.
It's a good habit we should all develop.
Yeah I will look into that...with a little practice I will become better with books thanks for reading me
