2026 Expectations

In every country, it is the sole role of the government to develop and care for the wellbeing of it citizens. If I were to be the president of Nigeria which is my country, I will focus on,
Creating job opportunities. Providing security. Improve education and health. But since I am not the president, I will be expecting the Nigerian government to do all these, this 2026. In this post, I will list three things that I expect my government to do this 2026 and state reasons why I think they should do so. CREATING JOB OPPORTUNITIES:
Unemployment is very high in my country Nigeria. Many people will finish school but cannot find job, for that reason, life becomes difficult for them and their families. What happens next, you see some of them turning to bad activities. You see many thieves, bandits, kidnappers, and many cases of cyber crime, and armed robberies in the society. But all these would have been avoided if people have good jobs, and steady income. If government can create job opportunities, poverty, crimes and insecurity will be reduced. If government should create job opportunities, our young graduates will use their education and skills to better their lives. For this reasons, I will expect that my government creates more jobs opportunities to make our country a peaceful place to be.

PROVIDING SECURITY: My life is not safe in my own country, the life of Nigerian citizens are not safe either. We can not even sleep with our two eyes closed because of gunmen attacks, robberies, or kidnapping. In some villages, farmers cannot go to their farms or even go about their normal business because they are in constant fear and worry. To travel from one state to another has also become dangerous, people are afraid of being kidnapped or killed on the road for no reason.

This fear is affecting everyone including businesses, education and daily activities. You can imagine a governor of a state being chased by these gun men despite the fact that the governor is in a convoy. What a country! People are no longer safe or free to move. Whose duty is it to provide security for its citizens if not the government? And you will agree with me that people will live in peace, work freely, only when there is proper security. I hope and expect my government to improve security and protect lives and property of the citizens this 2026.

IMPROVE EDUCATION AND HEALTH SYSTEM: Good education gives a citizen knowledge and skills they need to better their lives and become useful not only to themselves but also to the society. When people are given the proper education that they deserved, it helps them think better, make good decisions, and contribute to the development of the country.
Skill acquisition programmes helps our young ones learn practical skills that can make them rely on themselves and reduce unemployment. Government should train more teachers and pay them well, because when we have well trained teachers, it will improve the quality of education and help students to learn and understand well.

There is this saying that Health is wealth. When we have a healthy citizens, they can learn, work, and contribute to the economy of the country. So government should look into equipping our hospitals, and make sure the workers are properly trained. But it's sad that our government kept failing us. You can imagine, my neighbour took her daughter that has been ill for some days to the hospital, after spending hours waiting to be attended to, only for them to receive information that doctors are on strike, no one to attend to them, they should all go. 😆 😆 I just laughed, but it's not funny at all. If the government is taking care of the workers properly, all these wouldn't have happened. So if government should improve the health system, then people will live longer and healthier life.

If government should improve in creating job opportunities, provide security, and improve education and health system, our country Nigeria will be a better and peaceful place to live in.
