Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗
If you are a Christian and churchy girl, you would agree with me that there's this common pickup line that has become the signature of some church boys; it's already outdated, but I don't know why some still use it.
While I was in the university, I attended a vibrant youth church, and there was this brother that was foundly called Bro. Jerry by everyone, who was of the same tribe with me, and I happened to be his cousin's namesake.
We also share a common interest in agriculture; he did both his undergraduate and masters degrees from the same department as me.
So we just kind of connected; we usually engage in meaningful conversation, so I was comfortable around him, and I saw him as a big brother I don't have.
One day he called me and said that he was inside the university campus and asked which hotel I stayed at. I told him, and he said I should meet him in front of my hotel. I honestly didn't think anything, even though this was the first time he was asking to meet with me outside the church premises.

When I got out to meet him, we exchanged pleasantries, got talking, and he asked if I was still with my boyfriend. I told him we had broken up for long; immediately he breathed out a sign of relief and went on to say that there's something he wanted to tell me for awhile, but because he thought I was still in a relationship, that was why he kept it to himself. But since I am no longer in a relationship, he would say it out. The Lord told me you are my wife, and I want you to pray about it. Was what came out of his mouth.
In my mind, I knew I was never going to pray about it because I have never been physically attracted to him, so there was nothing to pray about.
With the way I kept tossing him up and down, he got the memo and stopped asking for my reply.
Not long after this incident, another brother from my department, who had just graduated and was awaiting NYSC (National Youth Service Corps), met me with the same pickup line that the Lord told him I was his wife, and he told one of his mentors, who confirmed to him that it was true.
He wanted me to say yes immediately for us to start a relationship, and I replied to him that the Lord has not spoken to me yet; he should go and pray for me to hear the same thing he is hearing.
I think some church brothers can do better instead of relying on these outdated tactics. There are better ways to approach this: when you see a girl you like, get to know her, build meaningful friendships, engage in honest and open conversation, and from there you will know what step to take next.
THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END 😀
Hahahah, see the way those two bros were just using the Lord up and down and you might not be the only one they would have said that to them if something goes wrong or the relationship breaks, they will say that the lord made a mistake abi.
It is good you were already firm from the start because some desperate girls would jump on to such words and claim that it is a prophetic word 😂😂😂
I think this line stems from the irresponsibility of some church boys to start and grow a meaningful relationship. They want to reap what they did not sow and take the glory while hiding under the umbrella of "the lord" said 😂😂
May God help us
My sister, I know someone that fell for this lines, and was later regretting her marriage. A lot of irresponsible church boys are just abusing this lines anyhow
No be all thing o
Now the line is hilarious, you're so right. It's an outdated format😀.
Yes it is 😂
They don't know what to say, l think they need a tutor on that aspect, really Hillarious, I am sure no girl would fall for that 😁😁
Funny enough, many girls have fallen for it. At least I know one personally
l think she overlooked the words, since she likes him, that's lovely for them

Now I'm not after that pickup line per say because I know there's no straight cut way of chyking ladies and what applied to one lady might not apply for another
However, what was that sarcastic reply 😂😂😂
You're not a good person honestly 😂😂
Well, personally, I prefer moving around the circles and avoiding the pick up lines, it works for me too
He needed the sarcastic answer 😂😂😂
If going in circles works for you, good. It's better than using a tacky pickup line 😀
Hehe
So outdated😃
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is hilarious. I’m not sure what I would do but if someone ever came to me with such pick up line, I would laugh so much that the person would leave🤣
You are not nice 😂😂😂😂
Oh🤣🤣🤣
