A Reminder To Keep Going

For a lot of people life can feel so unfair. They find themselves struggling to get even the smallest or most basic things in life, and even those still come with a lot of hassle. It’s as if every step they take is met with resistance and hurdles; this has made them wonder if everything is okay with them because of how things seem so much harder for them than they are for others.

When they look around, all they see are some of their schoolmates seemingly moving ahead in life.

Many of them have already secured admission into prestigious universities, while they are still waiting or trying to figure out which path to follow.

For some, some of their former university classmates have landed great jobs right after graduation in different prestigious organizations or government parastatals, climbing career ladders with ease, while they are still searching or barely making ends meet.

Others have found the "perfect" spouse, settled into happy marriages, and even started families, welcoming kids into their lives without any delay. Meanwhile, you feel stuck; it is as if the universe itself is working against you, as if it's blocking every attempt you are trying to make to move forward.

It’s very easy to feel defeated and discouraged in moments like this; you start comparing yourself and let the weight of comparison weigh you down and convince you that you are falling behind or failing. What you tend to forget is life is not a race, and everyone’s journey is different, and they will unfold in their own unique way and time. I know that it might seem like some people achieve success overnight while you struggle, but I am here to tell you that you are not alone in your challenges, and more importantly, you are not forgotten by the universe.

Have in mind that these challenges and struggles are not what define your future. I know at the moment it feels like they are insurmountable, but always remember that they are there to shape you into a better version of yourself for the future. I want you to know that every struggle you have ever been through is there to teach you lessons that will serve you better when your breakthrough comes. Because it will definitely come, perhaps not in the way or time you are expecting it to, but it will.

Don’t lose hope. And try as much as possible not to compare yourself or your timeline with others. While you are still on this road, make sure to prioritize your growth; keep making progress, no matter how small it may seem. Celebrate your every win no matter how little it may seem, and trust the process; remember it’s preparing you for something greater.

Please be patient with yourself and remain determined.
