kindness is good , kindness is perfect but most of the time we tend to be more kind to others and forget ourselves. We forget that we also need the kindness that we give to others.

I remember a friend of mine that we worked together some years back, she was a good lady and so soft hearted to the extent that at times people would take her kindness for granted. She was someone that could give her last penny to another and the painful part was that she would give it to anybody, even people who couldn't sacrifice a penny for her too. It was that bad . One day she had a contract to do some deliveries, but she didn't have enough cash to start the production. She met me I gave the little I had , since we were not paid yet. I advise her to talk to other of our colleagues that she had been assisting and request for a loan from them. She did as I instructed, but to my greatest surprise non of them agreed to assist her. I even went to them by myself and told them that she will pay back immediately after delivering the order and getting her pay but non of them agreed .

The lady later got a soft loan from the bank, started the production and delivered then paid back the loan. Since then she drastically reduced the rate of her kindness to people. I laughed a lot the day she openly told me that, since the incident happened that she had learnt to consider herself first instead of crossing the ocean for people that cannot cross gutter for her. I told her that it was not bad to be kind that she only have to also learn to take care of herself and be kind to herself too. And there are different ways of being kind to ourselves which is what I have been practicing and I am still going to practice it this year .

  1. Learn to create a liesure time for yourself and during the liesure, do what gives you joy. If you love sport , go out and do the sporting activity of your choice, if you love music , play good music, listen to it or do exactly what I use to do. Choose a particular day of the week and sit out.

  2. Ensure you eat good food, stay hydrated.

  3. Visit places and mingle with people

  4. Learn to get yourself gifts . In as much as you are gifting others also gifts yourself.

  5. Go on vacation, learn new things and also ensure that you learn necessary skills.

  6. Always prioritize your health, visit the clinic for medical check up and also pray to God for protection.

Doing all these mean you are being kind to yourself.
