Life has never been stable from the onset. Even if you were fortunate enough to have been there in the past and experienced what those who had lived there would say about life, we would realize that there is no difference in the world we are in. At times, we think we are living for a better purpose. We see ourselves as the best version of humankind.
I read a post on X a few months ago where the user said, “What’s one crazy thing about humans?” Then someone responded that “we are all sinners, but we see others to be most sinful just because we are not committed to their sinful acts,” thereby we had ours.
I would have thought life would take a better turn if we could listen to what people say about us from anywhere. If there could be something like a censor that would alert you about whoever is presently talking about you, and then you can listen to them without them knowing. That’s when you can tell who you really are.
We try to judge ourselves just the same way we judge others. We judge our character and try to amend it. But notwithstanding, we can't tell when we wrong others because you don't know what their judgment about you was.
From this, we become more cautious of ourselves, trying as much as possible to avoid any form of bad reaction and relationship with others, we try to build trust and loyalty, avoiding betrayal and envy. We need to stay away from many more of these bad attitudes; we need to stay away from or challenge ourselves not to get closer to them.
Along the line, we forget about the good part of us, we forget to appreciate ourselves, or the righteous side of us that needs to be acknowledged and appreciated.
I have tried so much to be good to others, as much as I want those acts to be reciprocated to me. I believe trust is earned and not forced. Over time, I realize how much I have earned people’s trust due to my good acts.
Honesty is key. To be honest is something difficult at times, especially when it comes to telling the reality or truth at the point of danger. Being honest has brought me a lot of bad things, and I have seen it as a way to live freely with a free mind, too.
Kindness is a virtue. We can't tell how heavy it is to be kind, not until you are in a position where you get one unexpectedly. Then you are reminded of the feeling that the person you just spread your kindness to would feel at that moment.
I have tried to be kind as much, not only conditionally, but even unconditionally too. And it has actually brought me inner peace, too.
Taking good care of myself. My dad once told me that the best gift you can give to your loved ones is to take good care of yourself and stay healthy. It might appear that you are selfish or stingy at times, but just make sure you are okay.
This has been something I have put into practice over time, and it's really something I am happy about. If I am not good to others, then at least I am good to myself.

Indeed kindness is a virtue
Don't look back always be kind being kind pays reward heavily
One thing I know is that we can't give what we don't hv. Before extending kindness to others, I must first be kind to myself, give myself the desired love and I can give to others, it's even easy that way. Your dad was right with that statement after all
