The Two Things That Brings Me Joy No Matter What

source

You know, people often say money is the root of all evil, but I don't totally agree with that. Truth is, money on its own isn’t evil, it’s the love of money, too much love for it, that leads to evil. Money itself is a tool, a resource. It's what you do with it that determines the outcome. As for me, no matter how rough or messed up my day is, there are only two things that can lift my spirit, having money and using that money to help people.

It may sound funny, but just seeing some cash in my hand or account, even if it's small, it brings me some kind of relief. But what gives me deeper joy is when I'm able to use that money to put a smile on someone else’s face. That feeling? You can't buy it with anything else. It's just pure happiness.

People always think wealth is about how much you have, but to me, it’s not about the quantity of money you make, it's about how you use it. I have had times when I spent money on some unnecessary things and after that, I felt empty. Not because I was broke, but because I knew deep down I just wasted both the money and my time. Every money we earn is a result of our time, our effort, our sweat. So, when you waste money, you are indirectly wasting time. And we all know time is something we can never get back.

I've come to realize that money is not everything, but I won't lie, 80% of our daily struggles are money-related. From food, shelter, bills, transportation, school fees, medical issues, name them, money is almost always involved. If you ask me, I’ll say lack of money is the father of all trouble. Poverty can break the strongest man and make someone do things they never imagined.

Now I’m not trying to act like a saint, I love money, I won’t lie. But what I love more is being able to use it to touch lives. That’s the kind of person I want to be. I want to be remembered, not just for having money, but for using it wisely and for others.

Because at the end of the day, no matter how much money you have, if you’re not using it to make an impact, you’re just holding pieces of paper. It’s the application of money that matters the most.

I don’t have all the riches in the world, but one thing is sure, I will keep finding joy in those two things: having money and using it to help people. That’s what keeps me going.
