If I could turn back the hands of time - Weekly writing prompt.

I welcome you to another fantastic edition of Hive’s Ghana weekly write ups. This is getting more and more interesting and I’m really loving that. ’if you could turn the hands of time what would you do’?……. I have messed up a couple of times over the years and if given the opportunity to go back and make a different choice, I would jump on it without giving it any thought. There is this particular moment in my life I would do differently…..

As a fresh naive student who just made his way to the university, I got needs that weren’t being satisfied with the money my parents were giving me. So I searched for legit means of making money and a friend introduced me to a certain platform where I blogged and earned enough money. Within a few months I had made a lot of money. More than enough to buy all my secondary accessories.

With all that huge sums saved, I was ok with life. Until another close friend of mine told me the was another way I could make easy and fast money. Having already tasted money, I was intrigued and asked for more details, he went ahead and explained the whole concept to me. Initially I felt it was too good to be real and had to be a scam. He told me the platform has been there over years and referred me to a few of our friends who were already making it big in that platform.

So I felt like I should give it a try, so I invested in it. The platform at that time was called CG, you earn by predicting the movement of bitcoins candle stick wether it was going to rise or fall. Another way you could earn was earning on referrals. These were the two ways you could earn on that platform. And of course because of how difficult prediction the market trend was, we had a tutor or someone we followed for the predictions.

Initially I invested $50, which was the minimum amount and at the end of the day, I had $53. Which was very easy and fast. Those who started with more capital made way more than me. So I decided to pump in more capital so I deposited another $200. Within a short period I was on my way to $1k. It felt good I was even dreaming of the way I was going to spend the money after cashing out.

Unfortunately we were ripped off our funds by the mentor we followed for the signals. Everyone who had invested in that platform had lost all their monies. And all the money that I had saved from my previous blogging job, went to dust. I went from hero to zero, life in school became Very tough and unbearable which in someway or the other affected my studies and at the end of the day, the results were nothing to write home about.

So yeah, if given the opportunity to go back in time and change something. This would be something I would do differently, I would stick to my old blogging job which gave me slow but steady income. Rather than jumping on a time bomb which can explode at anytime. Thank you for stopping by and see you on the next one.
