Here on Hive, we have so many projects but personally the Hive Ghana borehole project will forever be my favorite project.
Have you ever for one minute thought about water being considered a luxury to some people? Yes, You read correctly. Has such a thought ever crossed your mind?
I am talking about the water that runs 24/7 in your house could be some people’s wish? As crazy as this sounds this is sadly the reality of people living in most rural areas who have no access to good water or sometimes no water.
So here’s a little backstory about being in an environment without water.
Firstly water which is supposed to be one of the basic amenities of every human being, something that at this time and age everyone is supposed to have access to, yet some people do not have this luxury, these people without access to good water supply would envy and wish they had access to good water supply.
When you have no access to good water you get frustrated and exhausted as you’d have to not only look for water but the multiple trips you’d have to take just to fetch water is enough to make you tired and frustrated and some other times angry. Don’t get me started with the buckets or containers you have to use to fetch water as some of them might be so heavy and you would have to still carry them despite the weight or distance because you need good water at all costs.
For someone who did not have water running in her father’s house at a young age, I can relate. I know what it feels like to lack water, I know what it feels like to wish water was constantly running in your house and heck I know how tiring it is to fetch water every single day.
I can tell you for a fact that you’d feel on top of the world when you finally have access to water.
So this is just a bit of my personal story, now imagine hundreds of people going through this form of struggle every single day, losing hope in the government and resigning to fate, and all of a sudden a group of angels come to their rescue? Like human angels who did not stop at creating one borehole but are currently on the 20th one? Gosh! These people deserve their flowers.
To most people creating these boreholes might seem like something normal or easy, some might even see it as a joke but honestly, these boreholes mean a lot to these people.
To a lot of these families it’s a dream come through and this dream was made a reality by a group of dedicated Hiveans who in their own little way have been able to help these communities. They decided to make the change their government couldn’t make.
I am not from Ghana but I am so proud of the Hive Ghana borehole projects that are currently ongoing in different parts of Ghana.
With every Hive borehole project post I see on Hive my respect grows for everyone who in one way or another has supported this project.
@mcsamm , @collinz , and the rest of the team are doing an amazing job, you all aren’t just constructing boreholes but you all are making history, and hats off to you all.
Have you seen the smiles of the beneficiaries of these borehole projects? Oh dear, their smiles will melt your heart. Those smiles are born out of gratitude. These people are grateful not just because of the boreholes but also because these Hiveans are not politicians who are trying to bribe them nor are they competing for any political positions.
It is very common to have politicians who would go the extra mile to please the people but have hidden agendas as well.
I remember when I first read about the Hive borehole project. I was still a newbie back then.
I was surprised at seeing a social media platform support communities. I remember feeling all giddy whenever I saw another borehole was being constructed, and if I had my way I wouldn’t mind wearing my cheerleader’s outfit and pompom to cheer these amazing Hiveans on as they aren’t just putting smiles on people’s faces but they are saving lives.
These Hiveans are saving these communities from waterborne diseases, stress, and every other hassle that comes with the hassle of having no access to good water.
While I love other projects that are ongoing on Hive as each project has impacted lives in one way or another, the Hive Ghana borehole project remains my favorite.
As @mcsamm would say…
The story isn’t done yet, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for us all. Let’s continue to make history with hive.
This means they aren’t stopping at borehole 20 as they intend to continue to set up more boreholes and this is heartwarming and inspiring.
This humanitarian act is what sets Hive apart from other social media platforms and I am so proud to be part of this great community.
Thumbs up to everyone who is supporting this amazing project, be it in finances, skill, encouragement, and whatnot, well done. We see you all, we are rooting for you all and we are super proud of you all. Cheers to many more borehole projects🥳🥳
As we celebrate 5 whole years of being in existence as a community, I want to thank every single Hivean who has stuck to the platform till today, not minding the market or the glitches. You all are the real MVPs.
Let’s continue to support this beautiful community of ours as what we have going on here is golden. We aren’t where we want to be but oh boy we’ve come a long way.
As a community we have been able to achieve so many great things within this short period, this is proof that we can do more in the future.
Happy Anniversary Hive🥳

It is a brilliant project. Having witnessed first hand the lack of potable water in African countries, I don't think people in developed countries fully grasp the enormity of having fresh safe running water 24/7.
Glad to see someone that can relate. This borehole project is a blessing to many.
Thanks for stopping by uncle T😃
You are so very welcome Tammy 😜
So amazing
It sure is!
Oh
Hmmm, if a lot of us should talk about the struggle of sourcing water while growing up, the story might not end.
The Hive Ghana borehole project is one of my favorite projects of the hive, the team deserves their flowers.
This is a lovely project you guys are handling.
Thanks for this, dear @ibbtammy . It is important how we can make a difference in the lives of people with the blockchain. This project means a lot to me and thanks for the recognition
you're right when we have some things nearby on everyday basis, we don't notice how brilliant they are, and for someone they can be a real dream..
How happy those people in photo are! Just water..but how important it's is for life
