My Personal Reflection On Social Media Paradox.

Good day everyone, such a bright day with great great promises so why don't we climb on it already, and for today we will be discussing on the contest topic Social Media, Yes I know it's a very popular topic for discussion but for today we will be discussing it in it's effect on me as the case study.

We normally hear social media as a double edged sword, Yes or Yes? Well for me it's also a double edged sword, it's a means where I express myself, where I also learn and where I get to connect with people from different sphere of life while it is also a very big means of distraction to me, a very unhealthy place where the mind can get corrupted with many things we see online, So as I said early that for me social media has been a mixture of both and I can't deny it.

I have been in situations where something urgent will make me login but once I get in and start scrolling watching Facebook reels I can totally forget myself and be there for hours just whiling away data, battery and time while are all expensive and most times I do this unconsciously not because I want to but because I find my eyes glued to them, so for me social media has made me struggle with alot of things like showing a perfect picture online so as to compare myself with others because sometimes while seeing others online it makes one feel like you aren't doing or achieving enough which always reminds me of things I want to achieve but haven't.

While on the brighter side social media has been a big turn over for me which created a platform where I am able to showcase my creativity plus writing skills and be inspired by others as well as been an inspiration to others, it has also been a platform where I connect with like minded individuals like all the wonderful souls here on Hive Blockchain and every other space I have been, it had even given me the opportunity to share my thoughts, my experiences with you all giving me the space to air out my thoughts, it has been a great blessing in disguise that am ever grateful for.

In conclusion I would say social media is what ever we make out of it meaning that it's how we use that we see it, it can either destroy or consume you or it can empower you so it's left for you and I to choose wisely, but as for me I have choose to control social media not social media controlling me that's why I have started taking out conscious and deliberate measures towards it.
