Love, Cake, and Public Embarrassment

I am very sure that before executing a plan, most of us would have already planned it countless times before bringing it to reality, planned it so sweetly, but in real life, it might eventually go wrong. I think this was the case for this guy that I saw and witnessed in 2022.

I was in a restaurant then, not a big restaurant though. I just went there to grab something to eat when I saw this young man walk in. He was wearing a white round neck with black baggy jeans that matched the color of his shoes. He walked straight to one of the waiters, and they were having a discussion while I was pressing my phone, using one eye to look at them and also patiently waiting for my order.

This guy went to one of the vacant seats, then he brought out a white note from his pocket, opened it like he was reading something. This time, I have received what I ordered, and I was already eating my food, no rush.

Not long after, I looked up, and I saw a lady already seated beside the guy, I did not even notice when she walked in. They were already having a discussion, and I could see this guy smiling, but I was unable to see the lady's face because she was backing me. Not long after that, I saw the waiter this guy was earlier talking to bringing a cake to their table with a candle lit on it. Before I knew it, I started hearing "happy birthday to you..." while two guys blowing trumpets walked in and walked directly to them. It was Feb 14, and also that lady's birthday.

In my mind, I was like, Wahoooo, such a love, and it was doing me to go and fall in fall. By the time I had already finished eating, I was waiting a little bit to let my food settle and to also use that moment to observe them while I continued what I was doing on my phone. But before I knew it, I heard the sound of spoons, and plates, like something fell. I looked up, and lo and behold, it was this guy's table on the floor. The cake and everything were on the floor and at the same time, I heard some people mumbling that they had complained to those in charge of the restaurant about the table before. In my mind, I was like, What a mess! How will they not at least fix it.

I looked at the guy's face, and I saw the disappointment on his face. Already, the waiter who served him and a waitress were already there while I saw the manager walk out saying that he would fix it. I cannot imagine what was running through the guy's mind, but I did not wait to watch what really happened after because I had somewhere else to be.

But before I left that restaurant that day, I observed something about the guy, he did not lash out like some people would have done, he stayed composed, and also the lady that was with him, which brings me back to saying that not all plans will work out. Some will be perfect, and some will be filled with flaws and memories, like what happened to that guy on Valentine's Day, also his babe's birthday.
