Food For Champions.

Muhammad Ali once said, and I quote "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing". I repeat NOTHING!

When I saw one of the prompts that was put up for this week in the HiveGhana community about "Risks" the first thing that came to mind was this quote by Muhammad Ali. This quote has always helped with my decision-making.

Life is all about risks, and to have the best of life, risks shouldn't be avoided. They say life is too short to be scared and not take risks. I would even say that risk-taking is a food for champions. You want to be a champion, so why not take that risk? Look that risk in the face and say confidently to that risk "I am taking you". This may sound funny but it isn't.

Every great person that we know now and we celebrate has taken countless risks that we know nothing about. People celebrate the result, some don't even care to know about the process. When these great people tell you the risks they had to take before they were able to become the great people they are now, you'll be flabbergasted.

Now, let's move to the question that was asked in the HiveGhana community

Have you ever taken a risk that came back to haunt you? Or have you ever taken a risk and felt really proud of yourself?

Yes, I have taken not just one risk that ended up haunting me and I've also taken risks that made me feel proud of myself when the result came out. Let me share one of the risks that I took that made me feel proud of myself when the result came out.

Sometimes ago, I was staying with my Aunt. As the big girl that I am, I needed a place of my own. I saved up for months to be able to get the amount that will be needed to get my own choice of apartment and furnish it to my taste.

During the festive period, we went to my grandparents' place. I felt compassion for them because they don't have piped water. The stress of getting water from a far place was so disheartening to me. I asked them how much it would cost to construct a borehole. The houses beside them and behind them tried constructing a borehole some time ago, but it wasn't successful because no water came out.

I was willing to let go of the money I saved up for house rent for them to construct a borehole, but I was scared on the other hand. What if I use all my money for the construction, and water doesn't come out of it, just like their neighbors? I was really scared. Just had to summon courage and work started. To cut a long story short, water came out. I was so happy to be of help to my grandparent and their neighbors.
