Life can be so hard and unbelievable. In the midst of it all, one could think that nobody cares about them, or that everyone is concerned and focused on themselves alone. Truthfully, it could seem so sometimes, especially in my part of the world, where people are bodies of problems moving around in human flesh. Yet, even in the heat of all that, one moment and one act from one soul could change it all.
More so, when such an individual is a stranger; someone you barely know or even entirely don't know. It can be tricky and unbelievable to some extent. Nevertheless, some people have extended a helping hand, hope, and assistance to another, totally new and unknown to them. It's hard to see that today. Well, can't blame many, everyone has their problems that are yet unsolved, and are possibly lost in their thoughts of them.
To be honest, the situations surrounding the state of living today in many parts of the world can make such help or assistance questionable. A lot of people are out doing heinous things so security consciousness is the order of the day. I guess many don't even believe that someone can just step in and show kindness without some ulterior motives. However, there are people truly showing that kindness out there.
What I hope to share in this vein occurred about some months ago. It may not seem like a big deal but I appreciate the kind gesture shown to me by the stranger on that fateful day. I had gone to the secretariat where I reside for a task. It was around the morning hours and into the noon. I was done and leaving the place for my house.
I must tell you that the sun wasn't funny that day for some reason. I found myself sweating under it-something I so much dislike. It was going to be a walk from the building areas to the gate, and then from there to where I would take a vehicle to my place. You can't find motorcycles or any form of vehicular mobility within the premises. Without any choice, the walk was always necessary. And here was the sun, all shining and sending down its rays.
To my surprise, an elderly woman stopped by in her nice car. “Are you heading towards the junction?” she asked. “Yes ma” I replied. She then offered me the opportunity to hop in. At first, I was thinking she was trying to inquire something from me, not knowing she wanted to save me the walk. It was unexpected, though it didn't come as a total surprise. I've always believed there are still kind people out there. However, I was still surprised. Chuckles.
That was how I was given a ride down to the junction. It happened that we were taking separate ways after the junction. Had it not been for that, she was willing to take me farther than that even. That day and that act reassured me of the kindness that still exists in humans, even in a cruel world, and also the reality that a stranger can be a helper. Not necessarily someone we know.
The kindness of a stranger today can be scary. We were told by our parents how help was rendered and received in the olden days, regardless of familiarity or not. The case is different today. Such could even be hard to believe and welcome.
Images are mine.
To be kind always pays, not that the helper is in expectancy but later on good deeds pays. Thanks for sharing @daverick
Yeah, that's true.
Thanks @chizzy100.
I don't know why..but this made me smile.
Little things atimes touches the deepest part of the heart. Imagine what she would have considered little mean to you.
This shows that even with how bad and corrupt the world is... there are still good people out there.
Thanks for sharing.
🥰🥰
Glad it made you smile...
Honestly, it meant something to me. But I guess it was just one simple act to her.
True. I always believed that there are still good people in the corrupt and wicked world we're in.
Thanks for reading. I appreciate!
Yea ...that it is what it is to her..
Very much welcome.
The thing with kindness is that it doesn't have to be huge. It just has to come when we need it. Really nothing beats a free ride under the scorching sun, the feeling is heavenly lol
Haha, true. The feeling is heavenly indeed. I guess to her she was just doing a little favour. But then, kindness doesn't have to be huge to make an impact, yeah.
Thank you for reading.
Aww this is so wholesome🤭❤
So comforting to know there are still good people out there.
Thank you 🙂.
Yeah, it's so good to know that.
