Genotype has ruined many beautiful relationships and put an end to numerous love stories.

Two years ago, a close friend of mine told me about a guy she met on an online dating app, and things were going well between them. They chatted, called, and video-called each other a lot, their feelings for each other grew stronger with each passing day, and it didn't take up to 2 months before the guy told her he was going to fly in just to come and spend some time with her.

The guy lives in the United Kingdom, while my friend stays in Nigeria. For a man to travel from one country to meet someone is enough evidence that love was blooming between the two...

When he arrived and they met each other, they loved each other more at first sight and spent weeks together going from one place to the other. It was during one of the lovey-dovey night discussions that they both revealed their Genotype, and they were both AS, which put fear in my friend's heart.

In fact, they were both worried, but my friend was not ready to lose the guy, it is one of those cases where you find your soulmate, but the genotype ish wants to ruin it... She told the man that there are ways they can bypass it through the medical route, and he kind of buys the idea, so they push on with their love life. When she told me about it, I advised her against it because what she is suggesting would cost them millions of Naira, but as usual, it is hard to convince people in love.

Fortunately for them, the man's friend was against it, and he told his family, and they talked to him, and in the end, he had to tell my friend to move on since they were not compatible, and his family didn't support going against it...

That was how both of them were saved, even though their heart was broken.

Even if it is just 5 minutes before walking down the Aisle with her, and the Genotype was revealed, I am cancelling everything, I will not be the reason why my unborn kids suffer for what they knew nothing about.

Some personal data is supposed to be known before going too deep with someone. Someone once told me he didn't know his wife was Igbo, and I was like, This is one of the first things a person should know when dating someone through their name, cos when you hear their name, you will be curious to know their state of origin and so on.

People with the AA genotype are so lucky, they don't need to bother with the genotype-ish, cos they are compatible with everyone.
