Choosing Peace When Pain Wanted Payback

When i remember how painful it was when the issue happened, i felt very heavy in my heart and it took me a long time before i could let go of everything that happened. You know that kind of pains doesn't just hurt, it changes you.

Even if you're a good person that don't like wahala, some people are just there to frustrate you , some people are just there to trigger that wickedness in you, Yes that wickedness, don't be surprise when i said wickness because everybody has that bad side, as we have good side, we also have our bad side. And nobody would say he or she doesn't have bad side. It's only more than each other.

I remember a time someone i trusted so much betrayed me from my back in a place where i'm supposed to get promotion, and just a simple, little and nice words from him would have get me the promotion. It happened that i had a colleague at office where i worked, we were both close and tight friends in the office, infact we were both employed to work for the company in the same day, so we do thing together from the day one that we started working for the company.

We were both hardworking, we don't joke with our job, but you know there's no way we can both be hard working that one will not be more hard working than another, that was the situation of things back then. You know everybody in the office knows how hard working we were, but they know i'm more intelligent, more smart and more hard working than my colleagues. I didn't know that our boss is taking note of this, and every other person's in the office also do that.

So it get to some point where we both qualify for promotion, but it's only one post that was available that moment which is Operation Manager Post the day our boss wanted to give this post to one of us, i wasn't available that period because i was on 2 weeks leave. So the bus called a meeting for every other members of the company just to decide who to give this post, our boss himself choose me personally and he just decided to ask people's opinion on it. And everybody supported the bus, but only my own trusted colleague said something that makes the boss changed his mind and our bus decided to hold the post till further notice.

Surprisingly, after a week, our bus brought someone from his family and decided to introduced the person as our new Operation Manager. I was seriously pissed when i heard the whole story, i didn't know what to tell this my colleague neither did i know what to do for him, At First i said i'm going to take my revenge, sincerely i was seriously angry and i don't even think i'll forgive him then because all what is in my mind was how i'll take revenge. But later i tell myself, taking revenge won't give me any gain or peace of mind. So i decided to let go of this, hand over everything to God's hands, forgive him and leave in peace. It wasn't easy though, even though my pains wanted payback, but i choose peace over the pain.

The whole experience teaches me that, anybody can betray you no matter who the person might be , also have heart of forgiveness, so you will leave in peace, taking revenge will keep causing long time pain , leaving in peace is the best.
