Money can buy happiness! maybe or maybe not.

Money is often seen as the key to comfort, freedom, and success. But does having more money truly lead to lasting happiness?
Does wealth guarantees fulfillment or does true joy comes from other sources. Do share your thoughts.

Is money a key to comfort, freedom and success? A big yes. Does money bring happiness? Yes. Does it bring lasting happiness? Maybe or maybe not, depending on the angle you are looking at.

I have heard alot of person say that money does not buy happiness and for that I always say that “whoever said that money cannot buy happiness, does not know where to go shopping”.

Come to think of it, do you know the mayhem the lack of money can cause and the tremendous amount of unhappiness, worry, anxiety, dissatisfaction and depression the lack of money can cause?

Someone may argue that contentment is great gain, yea and mostly definitely, at least there is a level of money that needs to be available for you to have what will give you contentment. Who is ever content with nothing and emptiness. Who is contented with hunger and all the trouble a lack of money brings.

I don’t know about you, but when I have money to meet all my needs, I am happy and the opposite happens when there’s no money to. Money can buy happiness.

Most times people confuse happiness with joy. That inner satisfaction that comes from being at peace within yourself. Money cannot buy joy but it buys happiness cos happiness is a product of happenings. When good things happen, we are happy and vice-versa.

Can money buy lasting happiness, maybe not cos in this case there are a lot of other factors to consider. I know alot of wealthy people or seemingly comfortable people who are not happy. Initially they are but at the long run, dissatisfaction begins to set in. They come to that point where they begin to under that money is not everything in life and that there are other things that matters and also act as a source of happiness for living.

When the money is there and those other things are lacking, they are not happy. When the other things are there and there’s no money, they are not happy. That’s life for you. For example a couple who have all the money in the world but no child may not be happy.

And a couple who have ten children with no money to train them will not be happy. So the happiness here is dependent on who is looking and in what is involved.

Wealth can guarantee fulfillment or not depending on the angle you are looking at too. For example consider the case of someone who was passionate about a particular things and believes that thing is tied to his purpose and he is doing it with all his heart. Whether he is paid or not he is fulfilled.

This person out of diligence and commitment begins to make wealth from his purpose and passion. At this juncture he has both. He is fulfilled doing what he loves or what he feels he is wired for and he is wealthy. There is fulfillment.

On the other hands are stories of people who in the quest for wealth dabbled into areas they have little or not interest in but the money is there. After long years of getting wealth, they still feel this emptiness within them because they are not doing what they love. They feel they’ve missed purpose on the platter of wealth chasing. They have the money but are not fulfilled.

Wealth should be synonymous with fulfillment but it’s not always like that. Some unforeseen circumstances play around this thing’s giving a distorted balance.

Joy comes from other sources, real joy such as having a relationship with God can give someone that inner peace, joy and fulfillment that all the money in the world cannot give. So money can buy happiness but maybe not lasting happiness which I interpret as joy. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and not a product of happenings.
