Story telling keeps the day alive and as kids back then, I love it alot. On like these days when television and phones have taken over the sweet times we use to sit under the Mango trees in the village square back then and listen to so many stories.
In hive Ghana week 122 displayed three amazing topics for us to make our choice and I will be going with folklores. This is the part of childhood that is making me miss childhood. Hahaha π. Such stories have brought alot of good morals to te society. But not any longer, because this generation have thrown away every good morals that we enherited from our blessed parents who took their time to teach us wland we were ready to learn.
I went through alot because of these folklore back then. Don't get me wrong. I love story telling as every child. And I also tell stories alot. In fact if you stay close to me I will always entertain you with my stories. Haha π. I was the fearing type. I fear alot and it took me time to snap out of it. So because of that I was always afraid because of those stories. I remember one day that we were told a story about someone that was killed by an uncle and the spirit starting moving round angrily and later killed the uncle. But before he killed the uncle that was responsible for his death, he appeared to so many people in the village. That story alone scared me the most and made life miserable for me. I thought that one day I will see that spirit too. Hahaha π.
THE BEST STORY AND IT'S LESSONS.
One of these stories that made good impact in my life as a child is the story of four kids from the same house. One of the stole something from the mother. When the mother asked, they all denied. At the end they were all carried to the river to know who the thief is. This is the songπ
If na me steal this meat
If na me steal this meat
Water should carry me
Water should carry me.
From the first child to the third, they all sang that song and nothing happened to them. But when the fourth child came and sang the song, the river carried him.
LESSONS FROM THE STORY.
The story helped me to avoid stealing as a child because I always thought of how the river carried the child that stole away.
Those folklores really helped in shaping us as kids and I appreciate the efforts of our parents for bringing us such to help the coming generation.
Smiles ππ I remember this so much and it's really one of my best folklores.
Thanks my darling
I remember this story vividly. But we will still chew some of the meat from the pot. Thank God we didnβt have a river in our community.πππ
Hahaha π.
Thanks alot
Very interesting story sometime the just sing the song for singing sake because it will no work
ππππFrom the word go, I just started smiling waiting eagerly for the folklore. Not to mention I was eagerly waiting for the fourth child's fate. That moral lesson was top notch.
Thank you for sharing β€οΈ. My evening has been blessed with smiles.
