INTRODUCING MYSELF TO THE HIVE COMMUNITY.

I do not want to be an outlander on this space,thus, here i am introducing my humble self.

Hello everyone,

My name is Otubekun Damilola Bridget, I'm from Ogun state, Nigeria. I speak my native language (Yoruba) and English fluently, i'm a background vocalist,a live performer and a natural hair consultant. As a background vocalist, i get to work closely with lead singers(artists) to provide back-up vocals, add harmonies to songs during studio sessions and live performances. My favourite food is fried plantain (it's called Dodo in my language) with pepper sauce... yummy and I love to travel, sight seeing and listening to good music.

HOW MY MUSICAL CAREER STARTED.

It was almost Christmas period that year while i was in primary school,we had a music teacher and she was also in charge of compiling and arranging Christmas songs for the upcoming school Christmas carol. She and her colleague went into each classrooms looking for pupils who could sing well and join the school choir for the upcoming Christmas carol, she found her way to my classroom (PRY3A) and asked everyone to sing the peculiar Christmas song (we wish you a merry Christmas)and we sang the song gladly knowing Christmas is just around the corner while she on the other hand moved around the classroom paying rapt attention to us as we sang joyfully.

Sunndenly, she stood beside me for a while and eventually placed her hand on my shoulder and whispered to my ear 'you have a melodious voice', as she moved away, she gave me a pat on the back and told her colleague to write my name in the list and i had the privilege of joining the school choir for that year Christmas carol and also till i graduated.

As a child, i didn't understand what my music teacher meant by having a 'melodious voice' but I was curious and inquisitive to find out what it means although I felt it's a good compliment else she wouldn't have told her colleague to write my name down in the list and also asked me to join the school choir but i wanted to be sure. I waited patiently till the closing hour so I could bombard my mum with questions and also narrate what had happened earlier in school to her. When I got home, i was excited to share my story with her and asked her what my music teacher meant by having a 'melodious voice'. She took her time to explain in the simplest way that i could understand and she said all my teacher was saying is that i sing beautifully and my voice warms the heart.

I was only excited about the fact that I'll be in the school choir initially but i became elated and my joy knew no bound after my mum interpreted what my music teacher said to me(who wouldn't be?). From there, I developed consciousness of my God given gift and talent and i paid more attention to music and how to get better at it. I proceeded to join my local church children/teens choir, music has always excites me and it still does, it has also given me a purpose which i'm grateful for. I'm presently doing what I love and while at it I'm also having fun(i get to travel and visit new places, meet new people in the profession and outside the profession, make connections and also make money)

WHY I DECIDED TO DELVE INTO NATURAL HAIR CONSULTANCY.

We all have hair sitting pretty on our heads which doesn't just look cute but also helps our scalp keep warm by preserving heat. We have different hair types and hair growth rate depending on the gene and DNA, what we eat and consume also determine this growth.Some grows at ¼,½,¾ of an inch monthly but a lot of women don't know how to retain these lengths. I was among these women who struggled with maintaining and caring for their strands few years back. I battled with damaged hair, split ends and of course itchy scalp but i knew within me that I could grow fine strands and have a healthy hair if only i could pay attention to my hair and also care for it like i should,that's how my natural hair journey began and I'm still trending that path till today,

I started listening to my hair, paid close attention to how my hair feels each time ( believe me when I tell you that your hair speaks) adding extra care like i would to every part of my body. Did a lot of unlearning, relearning, learning about natural hair and how to manage it and today I've been able to break forth from damaged hair,breakage, split ends and bad edges etc and right now we are thriving and also flourishing. The desire to help women and men who are encountering bad hair episodes yet wish to grow healthy hair on their scalp, know about how to care for their strands and also retain length of their choice led me into hair consultation.

We all desire to have the lushious and gorgeous hair,so,if you are crazy about your hair health? It's my pleasure to meet you, slide in and let me help you achieve that hair goals that seem impossible to you. You'll always get music and hair content from me, kindly engage and let's ROLL.
