When Randomness Attacks... XD

It's been a while since I've drawn or painted something traditionally. Lately, I had the opportunity to try digital drawing thanks to a friend who challenged me to do it... and it's been interesting despite only using my phone. Another perk is that I need not prepare art materials. I'm almost out of all my art materials, so I'd have to get some new ones soon.

Earlier this morning, I had around 30 minutes of free time before my classes started. I looked at the already open sketchbook on my art desk...

It's empty, but I've added some margin around some pages in the past. I divided each page into two because this sketchbook is mostly just for sketch practice, and as I've mentioned, I'm trying to save my art material.

I initially thought of using my acrylic markers, so I changed the margin using one. However, I realized that using them would take me more time, given the size of the paper I'm using. So, I decided to use acrylic paint instead.

I decided to make the sky. I love painting skies, and since I didn't have a lot of time to paint, I just scattered drops of black, blue, and white on the paper.

It was a random thought, so the paper isn't really ideal for painting... but oh well. hahah

I blended them, showing a part that was darker than the other. I used a paintbrush at first, but then, I changed my mind and blended them more using a tissue paper.

The margin I made wasn't useful at all. haha Anyway, I have already started it, so might as well continue.

On the darker side, I drew some curved lines using white acrylic paint, then I added a few drops of red and green poster paints before brushing them upwards using a fan brush. Now, it looks like a night sky with the northern lights. :)

Then, on the opposite side, I added drops of white paint and then scattered them using a paintbrush and tissue paper. I also added various shades of blue to the sky.

Looking at my clock, I had only about 8 minutes left before my class started, so I decided to paint the surrounding edges black.

It looked better than earlier. haha Then, lastly, I added my signature in the corner.

I tidied up a bit and got ready for my class with a little over 3 minutes to spare.

This is what happens when my randomness attacks. The artwork isn't that bad, right? It was also fun to make despite the time constraint.

After creating these designs, I feel like painting a proper one on either watercolor paper or on my canvas pad. I'd likely separate these two, though. However, with more time, I may be able to think of a better way to transition from a night sky to a day sky.

I'm planning on painting our bathroom ceiling with a morning sky with clouds, so this is a good practice. The process would be different, but we'll see.

After creating this, I realized that I don't have a lot of art materials left. I'm running out of acrylic paint, poster paint, and my acrylic markers.

Art materials are pretty pricey, so in the coming days, I'll try to focus on sketching using either pencils or colored pencils. I also have to practice digital drawing on my phone, too! ^^

Anyway, I'll end this post here. Thanks for checking out my random art. See you around! (^^,)/
