Girl with a hive earring: my first drawing in 2025!

Hi, everyone I hope you are doing well. It's hard to believe we are already 17 days into 2025, and up until yesterday, I haven't picked up my pencil in this year. I guess I didn't know what to draw exactly until yesterday and I got inspired by a picture on Instagram and the iconic painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer.

This drawing symbolizes feminine beauty in minimalism and simplicity. The earring represents her love for the hive community.

This drawing is made using only an HB mechanical pencil. I used cross-hating to emphasize shadows and an eraser to highlight the details. The drawing took 4 hours to make and it was worth it.
