INVESTORS AND POWER : THE PERFECT MALL, NOT ANYMORE (Relatable)

A mall was built to receive other stores (I mean every store possible), and everything went well. Small and big brands had their own spots and loved how it was developed. Brand owners earned more with increased customer retention because of their location and quality products.

Along the way, some investors felt the brand owners were earning more than expected and wanted to change the earnings structure, which would negatively affect the brand owners' earnings. It was deliberated on and put into effect.

This didn't sit well with the brand owners; they initially disagreed and thought of leaving. While some were planning on leaving, others restrategized and took it as an opportunity to expand and monetize some products digitally. Smart move, right?

The investors had a way to dictate and restrict how much profit some brand owners should make, as they also wanted to exercise power and authority. It got me thinking, "Why would they dictate or restrict how much the brands should be earning?"

The mistake was promoting the mall as perfect for everyone, not anymore. It's unfortunate how silent some influential individuals are in order to continue to benefit from the investors. That's not living. You could call that slavery.

Some say: "You can't bite the hands that fed you."

Well, I would say that you don't have to be fed to keep quiet and stay away from the things that are not going well. You want to speak, but can't because your source of income would be slashed.

I guess it's their joy, but what about the promises made to the people? Their trust has been broken. Some intervened, but it was non-negotiable. Their power is personal and unshareable.

Moving on without looking back like "Lot's wife", but staying focused with a positive mindset while being alert to the happenings and taking on opportunities is the way out, because the perfect mall is no longer.
