I have several topics in mind that I want to write about, but I struggle to organize my thoughts to complete them. Just three days ago, I published a post about a book on feelings and faith. Last night, I was drafting the second article, but I failed to complete it because I had to wake up early in the morning just to reserve a Grab transportation for last week's lecturer going to NAIA Terminal 1. As a result, I had difficulty sleeping last night.

Workplace and Cultural Challenges

After reserving the Grab taxi, I returned to my room to take a rest. However, it appears that a business manager in our school has no right to get a rest. In less than an hour, our maintenance was waking me up, for they needed to buy a steel brush, electric tape, and wire. I was irritated, but I didn't want to be the cause of the delay in the upcoming open house at our school.

Our school is more than 40 years old, and still, until now, the protocol, the policies, and the guidelines have not been established yet. As a result, a culture that is personality-oriented and, most of the time, results in hasty decisions has been developed. This kind of culture causes unnecessary stress. It seems that everything new is urgent, which leaves the important matters suspended and delayed.

It is not easy to focus in this kind of environment. Lack of sleep, overwhelming tasks, not to mention marital and financial problems—with this kind of situation, no wonder I cannot write. All I can do is rant. If others are allowed to do this, why not me?

Pending Articles and Writing Motivation

Except for the above book, I also have pending articles on my Ph.D. ICS course about the transforming mission, the Fintech report in our country last year, and a biblical perspective on cryptocurrency. However, all these topics did not give me enough motivation to write. It was the notification last night from a "digital policeman" on Hive that triggered me to write. Nevertheless, a disclaimer is proper at this point. I don't want to be involved in Hive politics, particularly what happened in the past related to the takeover and the fork.

Observations on Hive Whales and Digital Footprints

As a result of that incident, I got curious and did a little chain digging to identify the digital footprints of these "enforcers" of order. One of them is included in the list of the top 10 whales. All in all, as of last night, the total whales on Hive are 40, orcas are 270, dolphins are 1,744, and minnows are 8,841. I just focus my digging on the top 10 whales.

After a brief checking of accounts here and there, I came up with two observations:

• So far, I only found two whales involved in content creation. Seven accounts are not into content creation. Perhaps they are here on Hive for delegation and curation rewards. One has stopped creating content since 2019, the second since 2020, and the third one since August 2021, the month I joined Hive.

• For some reason, it appears that most of the whales want to keep their privacy. They don't want to be identified. I wonder why newbies are exposing their identities on the chain.

Insights from Hive Whales' Videos

After that initial observation, I watched two videos made by an influential whale here on Hive. In the first video, he talked about Hive creating a circular economy worldwide. To clarify this, I asked ChatGPT about it. The bot identified that Hive achieves this vision "by fostering sustainability, decentralization, and equitable resource distribution."

Sustainability is promoted on Hive, for it is identified as an "eco-friendly blockchain" because of its DPoS protocol. Moreover, the Hive network is also willing to support eco-conscious community projects.

After seven months of roaming around Hive, my initial understanding of decentralization was tied to the existence of numerous dApps built on Hive. I was wondering at that time why my article published on PeakD was also appearing on Ecency and other front-ends. I thought perhaps this is what they mean by decentralization. Of course, the decentralized character of Hive can also be demonstrated by the existence of DeFi projects and the two favorite acronyms on Hive, DAOs and DHF. The idea of DAO first came to my attention via Pi Network and was reinforced by my reading of a DeFi book.

As for equitable resource distribution, the place of content creation, curation, and micro-earnings play a significant role in achieving this goal.

AI added other ways how Hive achieves the vision of developing a circular global economy, such as:

• NFT integration and the use of HIVE/HBD and other Hive Engine tokens to exchange for goods and services.

• Implementation of genuine financial inclusion because of Hive's accessibility and the opportunity to grow one's capital by staking HIVE and saving HBD.

• And lastly, cross-chain interoperability as modeled by the InLeo team with the Dash platform.

As for the second video, I only listened for up to ten minutes. My key takeaway is that Hive can provide a technical solution to the problem in the existing monetary system. Discussing its details would go beyond my intended length for this article.
